i love 713!

Yesterday was my first time dining at 713 and it will definitely be our new happy hour hot spot! My co-workers and I decided to pop in for a drink and snack after work and we were very pleased with the quality of the drinks and food. The service was outstanding and the staff really made us feel welcome. One co-worker from out of town already made plans to visit again when he returns. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for great sushi and great cocktails along with great service!

Excellent food and service, can’t ask for a more

I have never been big on fish and the thought of sushi use to turn me off. I tried sushi for the first time a few months ago in Dallas and enjoyed some of what I tried.

I have eaten at 713 Sushi twice now. The first time about a week ago from the date of this review and I craved it everyday since so I took a friend this evening. I enjoyed everything I have eaten there (unagi sushi, big eye tuna sashimi, cali. rolls & tempura soft shell crab-one of my new favorites, & pan seared tuna).

The service is very good (refilling your drinks ect). The only downside would be that the lounge can fill up quickly at peak hours. My friend that ate with me both times likes the food as well and he has eaten sushi at many different sushi restaurants around the country as well as in Japan. I highly recommend it.

Disturbing

I have been to 713 several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. In April I had my going away party there and secured a reservation for the bar that night. After the party I found out that myself and 5 other people had our credit card numbers stolen. Someone within the establishment took our credit card numbers and produced additonal credit cards. They then took our credit cards and charged at various HEB locations. I called and spoke with the manager about this. She denied everything. HPD is investigating this establishment and its employees. My credit card bank did a full investigation and found that the charges were fraudulent. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. THERE ARE DISHONEST PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE.

Honest waitstaff, loyal patrons

I was a "regular" at 713 for two years before I started working there. It's a place where "everybody knows your name" and you see the same loyal faces almost every day. My initial reaction to the SAC1040's libel, or slanderous review, was shock. Then bafflement. Ultimately dismay. But because we care about our reputation and our patrons, management is taking the initiative to investigate their alleged claims. Again. The first time around was a dead end due to the injured party's insufficient "evidence." Despite the various discrepancies, i.e. online it's a party of twenty whereas on paper (and batch receipts alike), it 's a party of eight, and that this alleged incident happened almost two months prior to any notification given to us, trust that we are looking into it.

Stealing credit card numbers is unheard of in OUR establishment. We trust our employees as much as we value our patrons, but if any of our staff was indeed involved any criminal activities, we'd like to mitigate that problem immediately. Because face it - what's worse than thieves are dumb thieves. Our employees have been there for too many years to risk their jobs and garner criminal records over $300 at an HEB grocery store.

I ATTENDED A GOING AWAY PARTY AT THIS RESTAURANT AND 5 OUT OF 20 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE HAVE HAD THEIR CREDIT / DEBIT CARD NUMBERS STOLEN AND USED AT AN HEB GROCERY STORE DOWN THE BLOCK.! DONT EVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT THEY HAVE A BUNCH OF THIEVES WORKING THERE!!!!

Not What it Use to Be!

There was a time when I used to refer 713 to people, but the last few times I have gone, the crowd has been smaller and the food just was not the quality it used to be. Last night was the last time I will eat there. Now, I recommend a little place with the freshest sushi in town, which is located at on the SE corner of Richmond and Fountainview, called Ko Ja. Every time I have been, the service and the food were impeccable. 713 used to be a hip and happening place, but maybe this went to their heads. My dragon roll was bland and the crab did not taste fresh, as well as the Maguro and Unagi. My mouth used to water for this place and the drive was worth it from the Galleria area, now I have a bad taste in my mouth and it is a long drive! What is really wild is that I almost defended 713 when I read woowoman's review. I cannot agree with the management and cigarette comments, but the quality of food is no longer to be desired. Come back 713, come back!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

My husband and I just ordered food from this restuarant and it was absolutely terrible!! First it took forever and the whole place smelled like Marlboro cigarettes! When we brought the sushi home they left out the wasabi which when you order take out who wants to drive back for something? Also, the portions are very small and the sushi is NOT FRESH! I ordered Chirashi and one of the pieces of fish was actually stuck to the rice with slime! When I called the place and asked to talk to the manager she actually said she prepared it and there was nothing wrong with the order. When I went to say something else she also said just don't come back here to eat and hung up on me! She didn't even give me a chance to say anything. Her name is Tammy! I am from North Carolina and I heard before I came down here there was some really great food but so far I haven't found anywhere worth going even the first time! When you pay $50 for take out for two people and end up eating sandwiches it's definitely not somewhere to recommend to anyone!!!!!

Excellent

I don't waste my time or gas any longer driving in from the westside to get excellent sushi at some Village or downtown location. 713 has fresh sushi, inovative rolls and excellent wine and sake selections. In fact, until one of the waitstaff recommended a Sake I had pretty much given up on the stuff. Most sushi places don't have sake choices. And while thiers isn't extensive - it is varied.

I've never been disappointed in the service or had to wait to be seated. The decor is very "uptown" and a pleasant change from most Japanese restaurants with their waterfalls and traditional trappings. Full bar, clean bathrooms, few kids...I go at least once a month.

Best Sushi in Houston

This place is absolutely amazing.. I have been on most nights of the week, and there is always a nice crowd, but it's never too crowded. The atmosphere is almost as wonderful as the sushi! :) I highly recommend to anyone who has not been here before. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere.. Weekends have a live DJ who plays great music!

Good Lunch Spot

I've only eaten here a few times for lunch but I like the lunch menu and the service. The sushi is fresh and there are some good priced lunch specials. The BENTO BOX lunch special is always a good option. The service has always been great. I heard the happy hour is good too. Definitely recommended.
