I recently moved from California and have been looking for the right spa for a few weeks; this search led me to Dolce Vita Day Spa-a secluded and intimate spa with a fantastic energy. What I have been more impressed about Dolce Vita is the overall quality o their services, of their products, and most especially a very caring and experienced staff. I was looking for a good spa ...I found a great one in Dolce Vita!
Pros: Outstanding Quality Spa

I am a spa aficionado and in the last few years, I have been to many spas; my taste through the years has refined, and I have been able to learn what a true spa should be like, and that’s exactly what Dolce Vita is, a wonderful spa with great treatments, relaxing services, and a well-trained staff. Hands down the best spa in Houston!
Pros: GREAT SERVICES-RELAXING ATMOSPHERE-WELL TRAINED STAFF

I'm a spa person. I get massages monthly and facials every other month. I was very pleased I was able to get a facial appointment at the last moment, which happened to be Mother's Day. I've read the reviews, and was really looking forward to my first experience. For a spa that offers higher than average priced services, I expect better than average service. When I arrived, I expected a warm greeting and an offer of a glass of water or beverage...did not receive either. My appointment started 15 min. later than the scheduled time and I was the only person in the waiting area. My facialist, Paulette, was very friendly, and I would rate the actual facial 8.5 on a scale of 1-10. I had no problems using my gift certificate, although it irked me to see a six month expiration date. It took forever to check-out since the receptionist and another staffer were on a gab fest with another client. I felt completely ignored, and really didn't want to wait around while the other client was being offered a mimosa upon her check-out. The most memorable thought of this spa is how wonderful it smelled inside as soon as I entered. For the price of my service and automatic add of 18% gratuity, the overall experience fell extremely short to my expectations. I left somewhat disappointed.
Pros: It smelled heavenly inside
Cons: Receptionist needs brush-up on customer service skills

I received a facial from Paulette that I can honestly say was the BEST!!!! My experience with Dolce Vita over all was wonderful with a very personable atmostphere. Everyone is very friendly and makes you feel like you have been going to them forever from the minute you first walk in the door for the very first time. Once you have visited Dolce Vita you won't be able to keep yourself from going back. I highly recommend you pay them a visit.
Pros: great service for a great price!!!
Cons: only has 1 location

I am an owner of day spa in the South of France, and on one of my visits to Houston I heard about Dolce Vita Day Spa. Ever since, I go to this spa whenever I am in town. I have to say that this spa is at the same level of quality spas around Europe; in Dolce Vita's case, size doesn't matter when quality is superior!
Pros: IN DOLCE VITA'S CASE SIZE DOESN'T MATTER - SUPERIOR IN MY LIST OF SPAS

I can't imagine a better experience! My sisters and I are spa goers, and whenever we have a chance, we get together for a spa day treat. And what a treat ...all I can say is that after me and my 2 sisters left Dolce Vita, we were sooooooooo pleased with the whole experience. This is by far, the best experience we have had in town. Charming place with a myriad of small details that add to the experience; the Yonka products are fabulous; the essential oils, most especially the one they use at the beginning of the services is amazing. Good ambiance, cozy and fantastic service from the estheticians and Massage employees, to the lady at the front desk our KUDOS, you all are doing a fantastic job! We will be sure to tell our friends.
Pros: OUTSTANDING SERVICE, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, WONDERFUL STAFF

The facial i got wasn't that great, the receptionist was rude, and a $42 lotion was pushed on me w/ out a price. The facial that I got cost more than the Web site showed, and then they added 24% gratuity on top of the bill without even ASKING me if i wanted to leave gratuity. I always do, but I'd like to be allowed to do it on my own. Don't bother with this place.

I went to Dolce Vita over the weekend, and I left a better person than I came in. As an ex athlete, I need frequent massages to keep my body from stiffening up, and the deep tissue I had at Dolce Vita was incredible. The front desk made sure to book me with a very knowledgeable massage therapist who had a background in sports medicine, and after 75 minutes I knew that it wouldn't be the last I spent there. The spa was also incredibly serene, which helped me relax mentally as well; after a while I dozed off, and to anyone who has a deep tissue massage, it is pretty hard to sleep through. When I left I felt incredible, almost as if I had never had a hard day in my life. I'm going back next week.

I too had a gift certificate, and not being a spa person, was reluctant to use it. I'm so glad I went! The atmosphere was very calm and aromatherapeutic (is that a word?). The massage was relaxing and invigorating at the same time, and I finished with a 1/2 hour soak in scented oils and herbs. I will definitely go back. They do push certain products that don't have prices on them, but one can always ask the price and decline or accept as needed. I may become a spa person after all.
Pros: Very relaxing from the minute one steps inside
Cons: Pushing products that have no prices on them

It was difficult to schedule. I emailed them and they were not responsive to email. Why have an email address on your site if it's not a good way to contact? I emailed again & someone finally responded, but then they didn't respond to my reply. I finally called to schedule my appointment (I had a gift certificate that someone gave me, so I really just wanted to use it quickly to show my appreciation for that person's thoughtfulness). I scheduled & received a confirmation call the day before asking me to come in 10 minutes earlier than what I had scheduled. I am a busy person. If you wanted me to come in earlier, why not schedule for the time I should be there? It's not convenient for me to move my calendar around for a service I am paying for. When I got there, the spa smelled great & it was clean. I had an express facial, brow wax, reflexology and makeup. Brow wax was not great - I've gotten better from cheap nail places. I need to tweeze it myself to clean it up in fact. Facial was fine. Not fabulous, but okay. Reflexology was fine too. At one point, I did ask the person who was servicing me about her other services (nutritional/herbal stuff, etc.). I guess I was asking too many questions, because when I asked her one question about the other service she said something to the effect of,"We'll talk about that when you schedule an appointment for that." She kind of snapped at me & seemed like she didn't want to give away info for free. But I didn't ask a detailed question & I wasn't trying to get free info - certainly it wasn't anything I couldn't find on the web. It was weird. Suffice it to say, because of the way she responded, there's no way I'd schedule the other service with her. The last part of my service was an after facial makeup. It was just okay. The colors weren't great for my complexion. When I checked out, they tried to charge me $30 extra. I pointed out the error & they did fix it. Won't be going back. I've been to better spas.
Pros: Good Location, Very Clean, Smelled Good
Cons: Admin answered cell (personal call) while checking me out, staff not very warm, very small spa
