Went here a while back and was more than disappointed, I was practically running out the place. The color and cut was actually okay, but the experience was just horrible. It took forever for him to dry my hair with his antique hair dryer and it kept coming un-plugged out of the wall. He seemed almost at retirement age and had very shaky hands and kept needing to take breaks. He didn't blowout my thick hair straight, but just randomly blew into it until it was a huge poofy mess. He could tell by my face I was not too happy and I told him most hair stylist usually straighten it. So then he straightened a few front pieces and parted it in a dated way, I just thanked him and ran out. When I styled it myself it looked okay but it was overall a horrible experience and I would never go back even for free highlights.

Just wonderful!

I walked in the salon 30min early one day and Alan wasn't in yet. But the front desk man called Alan and told him I was there early. I was pleased to see that Alan walked in the door a few seconds later greeting me with his smile.

When I went in I had long hair and, I was unsure how my family was going to accept me with short hair. But Alan said don't worry I'll make it look good. And I'm glad I went to Alan because not only did I enjoy the haircut but ,so did my family and everyone else! Thanks Alan. REBECCA

Alan Kosta - A Great Hairdresser

I love Allen and he does a really professional job with highlights, color, and cut.

I have been going to him over 3 years and I think it would be worth your while to check him out. He is not only a good hairdresser, but he is entertaining and keeps you laughing. I highly recommend him.

DON'T FALL FOR IT

I found Alan's reviews on this website and decided that because of the positive feedback he must be wonderful. I have never been so WRONG. Don't believe what other people have written. He was 40 minutes late and (as a previous reviewer also noted) smelled like an ashtray! I went in with a chin length bob and wanted something different but not what I got. The cut he gave me makes me looks years older. The best way to describe it is that I look like the mother from the Partridge Family. Yes, I have a MULLET! Not to mention the fact the "layers" on the top are at best two inches long. I had to go to someone else to try to salvage what I had left. It will take forever for this horrible haircut to grow out. Please, please, be warned and STAY AWAY.

Great New Style

Alan gave me a totally new look, cutting my long hair off and adding a pretty new color. I have received so many compliments, "you look 10 years younger", "I liked your hair long but now it looks so good shorter" "it's chic" "I love your hair" Just a few of the compliments - I love my hair. I have had my hair done by top hairdressers here and in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland but Alan is better. He's great.

Will Fly 1,600 miles for Alan

I am originally from Texas but am currently living in Washington, DC. My mother has been taking me to Alan for years for opinions on what to do with my "mixed" hair. I have never gotten better hair care and refuse to go anywhere but to Alan. I have planned special trips to Houston just for a hair cut and blow dry. Don't delay! Make an appointment with Alan today! I Am Only 20

I am only 20, but Alan has been cutting my hair for five years now, probably the hardest years of my life. Those teenage years where no one understands you. I always kid with him and call him Dr.Alan because he not only made me look great with this hard to cut wavy hair, but also honestly listens to what's going on in my life. I could probably write a book on Alan the Dr.Hairdresser, and maybe someday I will, because he really doesn't know how much he has done for me. I don't tell too many of my peers about Alan cause I'm afraid I won' get an appointment. Alan possess the talentd to rule any type of hair, he is Priceless.......

Houston is sooo fortunate

I am a Hairstylist from New York City. I first met Alan at a Hair Competition in the City. I was having my hair cut by a Platform Artist and he suddenly got stage fright, which led me to run from the stage in tears. Alan stopped me and told me not to worry he would turn my frightful cut into the best haircut I ever had. Not only did he calm me down, make me laugh,and then make me look like a million dollars, but also gave me the best haircut I ever had in my life. I fly in every six weeks for that million dollar Haircut, Houston is soo fortunate
