Ruined my nose

I wish I had read these comments before I ever went to Dr. Mentz. First of all, on my intial consult I waited three hours, then 6k later, he made a mess of my nose. To top it off, I had my nose done before my wedding so I looked like some sort of freak in my pictures.

When the first bandages came off, it was a gasp...my nose was sunken in on the sides like some kind of Micheal Jackson nightmare, my mother was sick and about to cry, but trying not to scare me. Then after a year of useless steroid shots in the nose, (he said would make it "open" back up), the tip now has a ball on it, I NEVER had before and it is crooked where it wasn't before (it is still sunken in on one side after all those shots). I went back all those times, but he just acted like it would get better over time. What makes me the most angry and upset is that this was something he knows is NOT right and if I hadn't come back in all those times, he would have left it the was it was right after the bandages came off. I finally have just given up. He just sashays in and out of the room and is never on time and doesnt give a damn. A word to the wise and hind site being twenty twenty..... Please do not use this Dr. if you need a nose job or just EVER at all! Oh and I also have some sort of strange indention bruise thing between my eye he put there!!!

Horrible Work--looked better before work was done

Since my surgery 3 months ago, my life has changed tremendously. When entering Dr. Mentz's office, you get the feel from the luxnurious surroundings, the seeminly caring staff, and Dr. Mentz himself that you are in good hands. It is so misleading for the quality of work that he performs. My face was ruined by him, and I was a good looking lady prior to my surgery. If he can't perform this work he advertises, then he should not be able to earn money by harming and disfiguring innocent people/victims. There should be some law against this kind of practice. I will never be the same. I have been a virtual hermit since he performed the surgery because I am so embarrassed and humiliated by the way I look. I am sure I could get him to try to correct some of it, but would you be willing to do that if he disfigured you so badly the first go round? He, his office, and his staff are all very deceiving. Anybody who has to advertise on Good Morning America commercials to get business should raise eyebrows (figuratively speaking). I am so sorry that I am not from Houston to get the word of mouth reviews about plastic surgeons. It is my hope that he write doctoral papers, teach somewhere, but get out of the business of disfiguring people. I would not be deceived by the good reviews because it is my guess, that Lupe wrote them. I've been to 3 other plastic surgeons for repair work, and ALL of them get his work to clean up. Be glad you had lipo done on your stomach because you can at least cover it up. Can't cover up your face.

Not too happy at the moment

Dr. Mentz messed my face and legs up......my face has been fixed thank god but now I am waiting to see what he does about my leg. If it is fixed and looks normal again I will be back here singing his praises but right now I am very unhappy and don't feel like he is taking my situation serious. I can't seem to get his staff to return my calls or get any face time with Dr. Mentz and I paid a lot of money and have serious corrections that need to be made. Be careful in consultation to ask and demand that you will be able to see and speak with your Doctor post-op whomever you see. I am feeling like a number in a plastic surgery factory like the before comment. Not happy.

• Cons: No real face time with the Doctor post-op!

Skip this one doctor

Dr Mentz's office is a plastic surgery factory. If you walk in, pray you are not the one he will scar by his heavy handed surgery practices. It has cost me so far $5,567. to fix what he has done to my face & body so far. I have asked the Texas Medical Boards to look into Dr Mentz's plastic surgery factory because I believe medical judgment has expired in my case. I probably could not file a case against him nor do I think I could go threw a trial and bring up all the pain and humiliation I had to endure as Dr Mentz patient..

I believe all these excellent reviews are written by his own staff members & not actual patience; so please take them with a grain of salt. When you go to Dr Mentz office you will wait 2 hrs for him and his waiting room is full he will spend only 20 min with you and that visit will not be about educating you but selling you things you don't need done.

No pain!!!! Just do it.

I had a tummy tuck last year with Dr. Mentz and had almost no pain. He used a local pain pump, which he invented or was first to use(?) tomake my tummy numb and so there was almost no pain. My best friend had a tummy tuck with another very good plastic surgeon but almost talked me out of it because she hurt for two weeks. It was a breeze and I recommend Dr. Mentz highly. My scar is almost invisable now and my timmy flat. I had 3 children and can still wear a two piece. Do it!!

Best Ab Etch in the Universe

Abdominal Etching. I had a great experience with Dr. Mentz and his office. I arranged my trip through his office, flew in, saw Dr. Mentz and the next day had my Ab Etch, had a nurse stay with me in the hotel and left 3 days later with the six pack that I never had. It took about 4 weeks before jogging was comfortable, but weight lifting was OK in three days(Dr. Mentz said to wait 2 week though). If you have always been built but short of a six pack, wait no longer. Several of my friends are planning to do the same. There are local plastic surgeons here but their work is not comparable.

THE FACELIFT EXPERT

Dr. Mentz did it all for me. Ladies, if you are ready for your facelift, look no further. His staff was superb and his care was thorough. All of it, from the imaging, extensive consent, presurgery preparation, their surgicenter, overnight care, nursing visits, vitamins, home face mask machine, after care, fine tuning with injections and fraxil laser... this is how it should be done. Because of the care, vitamins and special facemask, my bruising was minimal and my recovery was easy. I returned to work in two weeks with 15 years erased. It is six months later and I have renewed confidence, the compliments keep rolling in and I just feel great. My facelift looks natural and soft. Dr. Mentz is remarkable!

Recommend Dr. Mentz for tummy tucks

Great office and staff, nicely organized and peaceful dispite being busy. Dr. Mentz was very nice and spent alot of time with me, offered me several options and explained the pros and cons. My surgery was for tummy tuck and liposuction and everything went perfectly, the surgery, overnight and recovery. The added extra really made my recovery easier compared to my sisters surgery with another doctor. Recommend highly.

look no further, great experience

Nice office, Dr. Mentz spent alot of time with me explaining my options, some were nonsurgical. My situation was difficult since I had three botched nose jobs through the years. Their surgicenter is private and complete with anesthesiologists. The most satisfying part was that i finally got the nose that I had been looking for. There are many plastic surgeons, but few with the experience and patience to fix tough problems, believe me, i went to more than 10 of them through the years and had three surgeries, before I found Dr. Mentz. Dont make the mistake I made and go cheep, you will pay for it in the end. You will love him and his staff.

Satisfied with new curves!!

I had the tummy tuck and liposuction done two years ago by Dr Mentz. The results have been incredible! I wish i could show the photos of the results, i think it it would impress! Dr. Mentz does great work and i am a very, very satisified customer!!
