Don't go to the beginner stylists!!
by jsallen10 at Citysearch
The beginner stylist cost me about 28 if I remember correctly. He SUCKED. The left side of my head was slightly shorter than the right side. He took absolutely forever. He starting massaging me while washing my hair, which made me feel somewhat uncomfortable, being a guy. He really had no idea as to how to approach my thick hair. I didn't come out looking terrible but I didn't come out look good and if you looked closely nothing was even. He also tried to get me to buy some wax from him which was quite annoying. I really did like the oil they put on my neck to shaving it wouldn't cause any irritation.
In summary, don't go to beginner stylists. They really are beginners. Just because they are working at a high end salon doesn't mean they are any better "beginners" than the ones at say Visible Changes or the like (but at least he didn't rush you out like them). I can't comment on any other stylists however.
- Pros: Nice inside, treat you fairly well
- Cons: Beginner stylists was terrible at cutting men's hair
Definately

From the time I walked in they really took care of me. I had my hair cut by Derek. I gave him a general idea what I was going for and he cut it exactly how I wanted it. If you want good service and your picky who you let touch your hair you will not be dissapointed here.
Take it from me.....I'm picky!

I have been coloring my hair since I was in high school. I have been to various different types of salons and had various different types of stylists work on my hair.
I began coming to Clique in 2003 and have never looked back. I have NEVER been stopped and asked where I get my hair done so much as since Amanda Gernander has been my stylist. Literally strangers stop me. In an extreme situation, someone took a picture of my hair in a grocery store so they could show their stylist. I gave her a Clique card in case the person she was so loyal to couldn't work it out.
Everytime I go, I get more business cards so that when people stop me, I can direct them to Clique.
What I appreciate is that not only is the quality of the work great from my stylist, I would trust anyone in there if she was busy. They are obviously very particular about who they hire.
I am recommending them because it is really hard to find people that can do really great color. As a total bonus, the cuts are just as amazing and the service and products are top quality. If you have not been to Clique....you are missing out!
- Pros: Top Notch Service and Beyond Amazing Work!
Great place for difficult hair

I have been trying for 6 years to find a salon that can work with thinning hair. I was referred to Clique by a lady I was talking to in line at Central Market. The appt. was great. I did not have to wait and was treated to the best shampoo. No one has ever washed my hair and given me a neck massage at the same time. Amanda gave me a cut and color that really appeared to thicken my hair. The real test was I was able to fix it myselt. Yes... I will be going back again and again.
- Pros: Very professional staff...........
- Cons: They won't come to your house.
Enjoying my haircut

I'm a guy that is somewhat pickey about my hair. I've been to this salon 5 or 6 times now and I'm always happy. They listen to what I have to say and give me a little imput. I have been able to get in the day I call everytime. I been to 3 different people now and they were all great. The best thing has to be the shampoo, they give a great head massage and then massage your shoulders... it's awesome!
- Pros: easy to get an appointment
Great Salon!

I heard about this salon from a friend after having many frustrating hair experiences. I'm a blond (well was when I was a kid and try to keep it that way) and it's hard to get the right blond. After talking to my stylist she colored my hair the perfect blond. Not crazy bleach out blond, just light enough but still natural looking. Then gave me a great haircut with some new fun bangs. It was great from beginning to end. I even got to relax with a glass of wine! I love this place and my new bangs!
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Easy Parking, Wine
- Cons: none
LOVED IT!!!

I heard about the Clique Downton from a co-worker. I went to see Kimberly there and she was awesome! She was very thorough with everything she was doing from color to cut. I felt comfortable with her, telling her what I wanted and she in turn gave her opinions. I loved the salon too! very urban and in the middle of what will be amazing night life for downtown. I work in the area so I will be heading that way for happy hour!
- Pros: In a new and upcoming center in Downtown Houston
- Cons: more night life soon but not soon enough

My stylist is Amy. She is personable and professional. She fixes my hair the way I want it. She makes suggestions but follows my lead.
- Pros: Great wine makes for a great hair do
- Cons: Traffic near Rice Village location makes downtown desirable
Artisic Feel, Fantastic Haircuts

Clique has a location downtown in the Houston Pavilions. It's right across the street from where I work, so I'm able to go for my cuts on a lunch break or when I leave early from work. Very convenient. The staff is super friendly, and they're always really concerned with creating a positive experience for me. Great haircuts, and a great place to relax for a few minutes!
- Pros: Clean, streamlined interior, close to downtown
- Cons: none
perfect salon
by trikturner at Citysearch
I've never been a fan of fancy salons, but after being referred here by a friend I quickly became one. Not only is the location perfect right in the middle of Rice Village, but the whole staff is always so nice and upbeat. I've been going for 2 years now, and just couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Dayna is my stylist and always does such a good job, even when I'm wanting to try something different I feel really comfortable after our consulation.
- Pros: nice staff always friendly, great location
- Cons: none as of yet
