Awesome shop!
by EKB
I stopped into Lot 8 a little scared of what the prices might do to my credit card. I was happily surprised when I found many options in the $50-$200 range! I was looking for a dress for a special party being thrown for me and my fiance. I told Sydney what I was looking for and she was ON it. She found me so many options and eventually brought a dress to me from the sale section, which was PERFECT (and a steal!). They do alterations on-site, so even though the dress was a couple sizes too big, they are making it to fit me for just $25! I'm going to end up with a very unique, beautiful, custom-fit dress for under $80. I will definitely be visiting Lot 8 again!
- Pros: Staff, great selection, reasonable prices available
- Cons: Some expensive items
A great experience.

It was interesting to read everyone else's reviews after having been to the store myself. I found the staff at Lot 8 to be some of the most helpful staff I've encountered in a high fashion boutique--and I live in L.A. Everyone was eager to see what I'd tried on, give me suggestions for other things, and pretty much fought each other every time I picked something out to put my chosen clothes in a dressing room. I didn't even end up buying anything, but the staff were tremendously helpful and one of the reasons I enjoyed the experience so much!
Not to mention, I fell completely in love with a (very expensive) dress there that I am lobbying to get for a combined birthday and Christmas present, and I've never NEEDED a dress before. This one, I need. Even if you're dubious, I think it's worth going there yourself once, just to get your own opinion on it. I, personally, loved it; plus, Chloe was there! And liked her dress on me! You can't get a better compliment than that.
- Pros: staff, Chloe Dao, great clothing, atmosphere
- Cons: sale items aren't too great, clothes only made for a certain body type
Mediocre Clothes, Small Section, Unprofessional and Unhelpful Staff
by isaraarasi
I've been in Lot 8 a few times and it has always been a disappointment. The selection is very small, and the quality of clothes don't merit the prices asked. Also, the staff there is awful! Every time I've been there, half of them are talking with each another ignoring the customers. Also, they are not knowledgeable about clothing or shoes. I've lived in NYC and L.A., and it's a shame that this shop is touted as one of Houston's "designer boutiques." Please don't waste your time by visiting this shop!!!
- Pros: none
- Cons: unknowledgeable and inattentive staff, mediocre clothes
nice clothes, crappy staff

Lot 8 has nice clothes but some of them are overpriced. Also, the staff is a bit snobbish. Chloe, herself, is nice but the idiots she hired are rude.
- Pros: nice, unique clothing
- Cons: rude, snobby staff (minus chloe)
A Houston Must in Designer Shopping !
by jewelryjunkie
A shopping must in Houston.
Come on people did you see the Show Project Runway ?
We have a true fashion designer in our city :)
When you know someone has a great vision and a wonderful story to share, you just have to support them.
Great selection and awesome prices.
The staff is freindly and helpful and if your lucky you might even see Chloe in the flesh.
You can get a really lush one of a kind dress, or shop from other popular designers.
Plus they carry stuff you won't see on any of the racks at the Galleria or Tootsies.
A little piece of New York right here in Texas !
Did I mention they also carry some really sassy jewelry ?
Please you have no excuses, you can't call yourself a "fashionista" without fluttering through this
fresh boutique.
- Pros: A fashion must---Did you read the review ?
- Cons: None-it's in the village-you can find parking even!
Former New York-based designer caters to women with small budgets and a huge sense of style.

In Short
Lot 8 owner Chloe Dao's seamstress mother made clothes for all eight of her daughters. Dao continues the tradition with her atelier named in honor of the girls. She stocks plucky pieces by BCBG, Parallel, French Connection, To the Max and her own edgy private label that she designs and produces in the back of her shop. Dao's strapless dresses, cargo pants and funky skirts sell for a fraction of what you'd expect.

Every time I drive by the store there is alway something new in the window. The selection is very diverse and prices are very reasonable. The clothes are very original and unique. They have great jewerly too. I can always find something either for work, going out or for the casual weekend. The staff is very helpfull and friendly and things are easy to find in the store. This is one of my favorite shops in Houston.
Surprising Find in the Village

I have driven by this store many times on Kirby and always wanted to stop but it was hard to find a parking spot. I finally did one day and was so glad I went out of my way to do so. The selection of clothes there were great and the prices were very reasonable. The sales staff was very friendly and helpful. They will tell you honestly if something looks good on you or not.
DEFINATELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE STOPS IN THE VILLAGE.
- Pros: great selection, friendly staff, alterations on site
- Cons: parking
