So/So
by soadnirvana at Citysearch
A relative used to take my dog here for baths. Every time he came back, he smelled as dirty as when he came there. I thought that the owner was rude, she was working behind the counter. The products are over priced. Some insight into the owner. I recently met someone who knew her many, many years ago. She said that she was once a "pet psychic", manager at Foley's, and always had a very short temper. Then suddenly she started MDAM. She does have a college degree, but the person said he or she doubts that it was in dog sciences. The store was a but dirty, but I have never tried any other services but the bathing when a relative brought my dog. They have poor control over the dogs there b/c a Schnauzer tried to attack my dog when I picked him up that time.
- Pros: Selection of products
Best Dog and Owner Trainer in HOUSTON!!
by jjs791 at Citysearch
Some of these reviews are harsh and in my opinion untrue. I experenced nothing but courtious friendly service from the moment that I called about training for my pooch to the last class with my dog. My girlfriend and I went to the classes and the trainers were helpful and knowledgeable. I started out with an uncontrollable 6 month old lab and by the last class we were walking into the building (not skiing with out water) and jumping on other people was much less of a problem. I am looking forward to starting the Intermediate class in a few weeks. It has been a great experience all the way around.
- Pros: Knowledgeable, friendly staff and they LOVE dogs!
- Cons: I couldn't find any.
Fantastic grooming of small dogs; average for training classes
by lovemy2dogs at Citysearch
Sally, the groomer, has worked with my dogs for 4 years and they always look fantastic when she's finished with their beauty treatment. My dogs are treated well by her and with kindness which I really appreciate.
As for classes, it's average. The quality is better than Petsmart, but I've witnessed unnecessarily rude behavior toward owners. You have to put up with some garbage to take from the teacher what can be applied to your dog. It's pricey for what you get in the classes. In my opinion, there are better places in town for dog training classes.
- Pros: grooming, spacious
- Cons: rude behavior by owner, overpriced classes and products
Horrible Customer Service, VERY RUDE!!!!!!
by purpleskittles at Citysearch
I found this place online while searching for jobs and applied for a position in the retail store section of the warehouse. When I showed up for the interview, the place smelled horrible and the lady who greeted me was very rushed to get me in and out of there. Once I realized that was the store manager, she briefly told me this wasn't the place for me to work and she didn't know why I wanted to work there coming from the Katy area. I asked to see the place (already knowing I wouldn't ever come there again) and she very quickly showed me the training area and playground area. THE PLACE WAS A DUMP!!!!! I would never consider taking my dog there and I'm glad it isn't on my side of town. I tried to make small talk to make my trip worth it and she pretty much told me that it wasn't the place for me and that they are only there to teach humans how to interact with their animals, that's it. She was very rude and within the half hour I was there, not a single other person or dog came through the building. They seem promising on their website, which was very difficult to access and the place looked nothing like the pictures shown. It's an old stinky warehouse with nasty floors and not kept up at all. OVERALL, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY HUMAN OR DOG TO VISIT THIS NASTY WAREHOUSE!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: Absolutely NOTHING!!!!!
- Cons: Horrible rude store manager and NASTY warehouse with little parking space
The owner treats people very badly
by milly909 at Citysearch
I can only guess that the positive reviews I just read are written by the owner, Loralei, under assumed names. Loralei is an extremely rude person, and I quit going there finally after three years. I can't stand her anymore, and even my dogs don't like her. I agree with the experiences written by the other reviewers about her bad temperament. Unless she can train dogs to drive cars and use credit cards or bring cash for payments, she needs to stop treating the people who TAKE their dogs there like trash. She looks for reasons to "get on you", and she has an acid tongue. The items in the shop are also over-priced by a pretty big percentage, It's too bad that this facility is run by someone who obviously flunked "Human Interaction 101".
- Pros: a/c
- Cons: Loralei, the owner
Decent
by thetruthhurtssometimes at Citysearch
This system is solely based on treat training dogs. To me it works for some, but not all dogs. The techniques they use, can be found in any generic dog training book... I will say that they do love dogs, and people. The price is fair, and they will go the extra mile to help get you and your puppy graduated. Beware of the tactics they use to get you to sign up for the next level. The facility is air conditioned, but its kind of filthy and smelly. Staff is friendly and helpful
- Pros: Offer holistic foods
Dirty warehouse
by MatildaDogsRule at Citysearch
Ok... I have to say I like boutiques... I thought this would match up, but NO!
I found it to be dirty, smelly, and the staff was not really knowledgeable about products.
I am glad I did not bring my dog with me - she would have needed a flea bath after going here!
Most of the dogs I did see really needed some training... Oh well.... Maybe their owners needed training, in which case they were in the right place!
I heard the classes can be a good step for the beginners to understand consistency with commands.
I just wish some people would let their dogs do their duty outside for heavens sake! Yikes!
- Pros: Large warehouse
- Cons: Dirty warehouse
worst place to work
by Katytx at Citysearch
This is not really a review just giving some insight into the owner -I worked at my dog and me very briefly a couple of years ago. I thought it would be a fun part-time job in addition to my regular day job. My grandmother died while employed there and the owner fired me because I refused to come into work the same day of her funeral! (which by the way was out of town - not that this should matter). She suggested that I did not have my priorities in order! She is the wicked witch of the west!
Worst Service anywhere!
by BLI at Citysearch
Do not waste your money! The owner is an unprofessional, nasty, rude and obnoxious old witch. She will scream and yell at her customers and their dogs without hesitation.
My Dog loves it here!
by justdanielle1 at Citysearch
I saw some of the other reviews about the owner here and I have to say that perhaps people are taking the owner the wrong way. Yes, she isn't warm and fuzzy but she is polite and does treat the dogs warm and fuzzy which is my main concern. The services and enviroment are wonderful, grooming comes out beautifully and overall I think if you aren't looking for a pat on the head for yourself you will be delighted. Give them a chance!
- Pros: Awesome facility, great grooming services
