Amazing Results !
by mems75 at Citysearch
In short, I vistited Christopher @ gloss to fix a bad hatchet-job from another cutter here in the city. He was outstanding...Now my angled-bob is exactly that ! I can't thank him enough !!!!
- Pros: skilled stylist

GREAT STYLE AND SUBSTANCE
by aoaodeff1 at Citysearch
I just relocated to Houston from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and was in need of a new stylist. My search is over. Christopher is just marvelous !
He sat down and discussed all of my concerns/questions beforehand. He really made certain that we were both on the same page before the service got underway. My hair color was a bit too blonde and over-processed. He brought me back to a natural and healthy looking color and then gave me a new and improved haircut to go with it. Since I left the salon, the compliments have been coming in from all of my friends and co-workers. I'm so glad that I found you ! Thanks again.
- Pros: skill, consultation, ample parking
- Cons: none
Standing Ovation!
by pinkvenus at Citysearch
This review is long over due. I have been going to Christopher four times in a row now to get my haircut, and he does a fantastic job every time! He listens to what you want, offers a few suggestions if needed, and whola - out comes beautiful hair. I finally allowed him to high-light my hair recently after going to someone else for years, and I am so thrilled with the results! I brought various pictures of high-lights with me (one of Jennifer Aniston), that I like, and Christopher duplicated the exact results. My hair looks and feels healthy, shiny, and natural. The high-lights go with my skin-tones and actually make my eyes stand out more. It has been a little over a week, since my visit with Christopher, and I have received a lot of great compliments. A gal stopped me in the grocery store at HEB in Kingwood this morning asking me who did my hair. Thanks Christopher! Looking forward to all future visits! See ya soon!
- Pros: Everything; great parking, ambience, friendliness
- Cons: None
fantastic !!!
by beckyohmig69 at Citysearch
All I can say is that Christopher is truly fantastic. All of the reviews are right. I found him on citysearch.
My hair was a complete wreck. He listened to all of my needs and concerns and then went to work.
Not only did he fix my color, but he even spruced up my bad haircut. He really devoted his time and attention to me and only me ! Wow. Let's just say that he now has me hooked. Thank You so much !!!
- Pros: skilled stylist
The best hour of my week !
by zinger39 at Citysearch
I went to see Christopher at the advice of several friends. Simply stated, I needed help. We sat down and talked over all of my hair issues , likes and dislikes. Together, the two of us came up with a new style and direction for my hair. I was scared a little at first but only because I'm not a big fan of big changes.
Christopher cut off quite a bit of length off and took out that extra weight. Once we really got going I felt completely at ease and relaxed into the chair.
Upon completion, I couldn't be happier with my new haircut ! Plus I can even style it myself ! Wow...there's a first. I'm so glad that I finally ended up in Christopher's chair.
- Pros: cool traci/scott building, location, christopher
- Cons: zero
BEST IN THE CITY !
by cupcake111 at Citysearch
What else can I say ? My experience at Gloss with Christopher was fantastic !!! The space itself is within the Traci Scott salon. Very relaxing and quiet. Everyone there is extremely friendly and low-key. Christopher read my mind and delivered the exact style that I have been searching for. He has amazing communication skills and even told me what to expect on a day to day basis given my hectic schedule. My haircut is perfect ! It's been 3 weeks and it looks just as good as it did when I walked out of the salon. Christopher is the best in the city ! I'm hooked !!!
- Pros: skill, communication, atmosphere
BETTER THAN EVER !
by beccast5 at Citysearch
I've been going to gloss for awhile now and finally decided to give it a well deserved review. First, gloss has not closed...IT HAS MOVED LOCATIONS. Christopher has moved gloss into the Traci Scott salon on W. Gray. What a great change. The new space is relaxed, cheery, and has lots of natural light. The salon is much more private and the location is SO much better. My haircut and color are always top-notch and I couldn't be happier. My haircuts always grow out so well and the compliments just keep coming. Congrats on the move !!!
See you in 8 weeks !
- Pros: christopher, new location, relaxed atmosphere
- Cons: nada
Great highlight and haircut !
by nutechno at Citysearch
I went to gloss recently and the urging of a close friend. She has been going to the salon for awhile now and her hair always looks amazing. She sees Christopher there so that is who I asked for. He was very polite, punctual. and put my mind at ease. We had a nice long consultation about my color needs and styling challenges. My old highlights had grown out and looked quite dull and unremarkable. I told him that I wanted a nice summery blonde.
My haircut also was in need of some attention. It too had grown out and completely lost its shape. There were too many layers and it needed too be thinned out greatly. That is exactly what happened. By the time Christopher was through with me, I felt and looked fantastic !
My highlights and haircut were beautiful ! My hair is now the perfect shade of blonde and the cuts works exceptionally every single day. Nice job !
- Pros: skill, stylist
- Cons: a little hard to find
Never Again
by Snookie5 at Citysearch
I read all of these great reviews of this place and was excited to try a new place. I'd been going to the same place for years but my normal guy was on vacation. SO - I came to Gloss, to Christopher specifically. I wanted a partial highlight touch up and a hair cut. My hair is shoulder length. Somehow, my partial highlights ended up taking 3 hrs & 15 minutes! With NO haircut b/c we ran out of time!! On top of that, he only put about 15 foils in my hair, normally my partial gets most of my head, minus the underside. During the highlights I asked if Gloss is one of those places that charges additional $ for a blowdry/style and he said no. Well, he did! $30 for straightening my hair with a CHI. When I asked him about this, he said blowdrying is free but "styling" it is $30. So, my highlights alone cost over $100 (remember, for 15 foils!) and extra $30 for straightening. Fine, whatever. If it's good, I generally don't care how much it is. The next day, I was out with friends and a close friend of mine asked me when I was going to get my hair redone. Then she pointed out all these spots that were "highlighted" but like 1/2 an inch from my scalp! I hadn't noticed this while at the salon the day before. I called and I went back in for him to fix some spots. Well, I don't know if he was feeling generous, but he ended up putting like 30-40 MORE foils in my hair. (Why wasn't that done the first time??)
Ultimately, I'm still finding large gaps that were missed, a few sections were done very close to my scalp, yet many areas are quite dark and overall, not well done. Now that I've washed my hair several times, the color that was put in has turned an brassy color and does not blend with the rest of my hair that is a totally different blonde color...
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
- Pros: Walk ins welcome
- Cons: OVERPRICED, terrible highlights
best haircut in years :)
by kskipworth at Citysearch
I went to Gloss for the first time and fell in love with it. It is the best hair cut I have had in years. Christopher was so nice and really took his time with my hair making sure that I was happy with it. I will go back and I will reccomend this salon to everyone.
- Pros: I walked out with a great haircut
- Cons: not cheap but well worth it
