I saw a friend that just got her hair done and styled and I loved it! She reccommended Sherry from the Upper Hand, so i tried it! BEST SERVICE! She massaged my hair, she was VERY patient, her customer service was awesome, and she was SO helpful at deciding what cut and style was best for my hair. The atmosphere at the Upper Hand is great and spa-like. Very comfortable, great helpful staff. The results were AWESOME! all of my friends were speechless! They all loved my new hair! I had a great relaxing time too! I actually took some of sherry's business cards and gave them to a bunch of friends! I tell everyone everywhere i go! Sherry, and the rest of the staff at Upper Hand were amazing! 5 star service

Pros: Great staff, awesome atmosphere, and reccommended by many people!

Cons: None!

I just moved here and searched online and found Jillian. I went in a little scared but she helped me so much. Not only did she make me feel very comfortable and told me we could go in stages but she also did a fabulous job! I now feel confident and stylish! I highly recommend Jillian to anyone she is talented and I have only been in twice so far but will be a client forever. Plus both times we laughed so much so the experience is also enjoyable that way as well.

Pros: friendly staff

Cons: parking can sometimes be bad

I had to commend Danielle for the great job she does on my VERY thick difficult hair! All my life hair stylist's have cringed when they see me coming. I was so impressed with the ability that Danielle had to not only cut and style my hair, but the amazing job she does blowing my hair out. She tweaked my color and now it is just perfect! She makes me look and feel years younger! Her awesome attitude and genuine spirit are so refreshing. I am constanlty asked "who does your hair?" I am very proud to say "DANIELLE at the Upper Hand - Royal Oaks location, she is AMAZING!"

Pros: Danielle-Great Stylist!

Cons: Uncomfortable Chairs

I am a picky person and have had only a few people cut my hair. Serena came highly recommended. She is bubbly, kind, responsive, and actually listens to what the client has to say. She works with you and gives you what you are looking for. She has great advice and is up to date with the latest trends. I recently got brave and tried a new haircut Serena recommended, oh my gosh, I love it. I have had so many compliments. She is fabulous!!!

Serena absolutely rocks when it comes to hair - fabulous razorcut short hair, fun & fabulous blond extensions for a brunette, color that takes you from redhead to blonde to brunette and every sassy highlight in between. Fun times and great haircut - what more could you want from your best hairstylist?

I've only gotten my haircut four times in my life by people other than my mom. I am very picky and have difficult to cut hair because it is fine, frizzy and thin. Serena was one of the stylist I trusted to cut my hair. May I say, I have never been dissappointed. She is outstanding and NORMAL. She is never pushy, gossipy, annoying, loud or vulgar - oh, did I mention she is a talented stylist too? She makes excellent recommendations and ALWAYS LISTENS to the client. I have recommended many ladies to Serena and ALL have been satisfied and are repeat clients. I wish there was an Upper Hand Royal Oaks in every city of the United States. I wish I could clone Serena and take her with me when I move. Royal Oaks is an outstanding salon filled with talented people, but Serena is hands down the most compitent and wonderful individual employed there. She also does an excellent eyebrow wax. Every time I got my hair cut and styled by Serena, strangers would compliment me on my hair. Love Royal Oaks and love Serena!!!!!!!

Pros: great suburb location, new clean salon, easy parking, excellent and attentive service and great product selection

Cons: they're not all over the United States!

I have been to several salons now; not only in Houston but California as well and Serena really knew exactly what my hair needed. She gave me the best Japanese thermal straightner I have ever recieved. It looked so natural and felt even better than when I went in. This is the forth one I have had and by far the best. I am so lucky that I found her. If you are thinking about this procedure know you are in good hands with her. She was very truthful and explained the process to me, whitch no one has ever done before. Can't wait to see how their other services are.

i had just gotten my hair cut a few days before by my usual stylist and, despite me effort to try and explain what i wanted, she gave me a cut that was not it. I called the Upper Hand and they set me up with Danielle. She listened to me and I explained to her that i like to wear extensions when i go out and my current haircut made my extensions look silly and obvious. She worked with my hair and gave me exactly what i wanted. she even told me to put the extensions in when i got home and if they didn't work she would fix it for free. Danielle is awesome!

Pros: Well trained, friendly staff

Jillian was amazing - I had no idea what color I wanted for, she was a great help. I love the color!!! Great salon, very nice personnel.

What can i say about this place, IT'S HEAVEN ON EARTH!!! I was told by a friend that Annie was the Anastasia of Houston she has worked miracles on my eyebrows, and my face looks great due to her wonderful facials. For my Hair, Shiva is the master. She has turned my hair from brittle, ogre hair, to silky, managable hair. These two ladies are the POWERHOUSE OF THE UPPER HAND. They are Friendly, Outgoing, and their service is extremely wonderful. I will not be going anywhere else but The Upper Hand.
