Good Salesman - Good Service

by Houston400 at Citysearch

I have bought several cars in my lifetime; some were good experiences, some bad. I went to Munday expecting to haggle and go back and forth with the salesperson and manager when buying my new car. I was wrong. I got a professional salesperson who was knowledgable and easy to deal with. I was at the dealership for less than 3 hours from start to finish. I have brought the car back for service 3 times now (oil changes, tire rotation etc.) and the service department has been great.

  • Pros: No hassles - Short Time Buying
  • Cons: None

The Biggest RIP OFF Ever

by sticks101 at Citysearch

This was the worst experience I have ever had!!! They misrepresented my loan to a company and then it was cancelled 2 weeks later....after they had already paid my car off. I took the truck back to them and told them to just keep the car they had paid off (owed 1,000 more than the trade-id). Munday convinced GMAC they had paid they car off in error and cancelled the check. Took my car back and gave them back their truck I had been driving for 3 weeks. They also took the license plates off my car, lost them, and then wanted me to sign an affidavit that I had lost them. I'm still waiting to see what they have done to my credit, which was very good before them. If you still go, check all paperwork carefully, as they will change the numbers, charge you more and then shuffle the papers fast so you don't have time to read them. DO NOT GO THERE - Can't understand why they are still in business. You would think with the GM bankruptcy, they would want reputable dealers representing them. I would give them a -10 stars but can't figure out how.

Happy Car Shopper Munday Chevy

by antoniomp74 at Citysearch

I do recommend this place. I have to recognize that I had an issue with this car dealer but the problem was solved. The problem was that I the time I bought the car the sales person did not know the Chevy Traverse had to LT trims. LT1 that did not bring the Bluetooth system and other items and the LT2 did bring those items. He told me the car had the Bluetooth system but it did not, since it was an LT1. However, he told me they?ll install it for me, since it was a mistake.

The problem started when I was there several times and they failed to install the Bluetooth system for one reason or the other. I was really upset and though they were laying and playing with me. Then I when to talk to the person I should have seen on the first place the Director of Costumer Relations (Rosa Trujillo). She apologized and told me that she absolutely guarantee me she will fix the problem. I did no believe it, but she did as she promised.

For this reason, as I gave them a bad evaluation before, I am updating it for a much better one. I recognize I had a problem, but it was solved.

  • Pros: Good car selection
  • Cons: Not always directed to the right people to fix your problem

Cheap sales team to match the Hype!

by Antiloquist at Citysearch

If I could give less than one star, I would. I worked here for one week and decided that I didn't like feeling as if I needed to warn people to bring a tub of vasaline with them before they negotiate their deal. Normally when you see many people complaining about a business, it is just for complainings sake. Having seen the inner workings of this place, absolutely avoid it!

As a side note... it seems to me that the one glistening review has been typed with emphasis likened to a sales rep. CAPITAL letters to catch our eye with the GREAT DEALS. The wording such that I nearly expected to see ACT NOW, written at the bottom.

We're not falling for it Munday!

  • Pros: The staff good at what they do.
  • Cons: What they do is screw over the buyer!

Do NOT fall into the trap

by Photo101 at Citysearch

First of all, whoever wrote the 5 Star works for that dealership so dont let it deceive you.

This is THE WORST car dealership in the nation. BUT funny enough, one of the top 5 Chevy dealerships in the country. They do that by moving vehicles. Not total revenue. They do this by deceiving "customers" and using bait tactics that should be illegal. I have never met a more disrespectful, rude salesman in my life.

I went in to buy a Corvette. Had a $20,000 check for downpayment, etc. Told them exactly what I wanted and they had the car. They took the keys to my 2007 Trade In and refused to give them back until we did some "paperwork". I demanded my keys. Finally, the GM gave me my keys when I went to his office. He called a "reputable salesman" on the phone to negotiate the price of my trade to show me his "good faith". Funny enough, the guy he was talking to was in my view and worked for the dealership.

To make a long story short, he said the dont use any market pricing tools such as Kelly Blue Book..AND the credit scores that we as consumers get at Experian, Equifax, etc are incorrect and theirs is right. My scope was in the high 600s. The salesman continued to lie to my face on the price he told me just 20 minutes earlier and was just a rude, miserable individual.

So I thought maybe it was just a bad night and came back 4 days later. They raised the price of the Corvette another 1500 and wanted the keys to my trade again. Not going to happen.

It was a horrible experience and I will NEVER return there. No matter the "bait" they use next. Bill Munday has a horrible reputation in Houston and Austin. He is a man that cares about one thing and one thing only. Money. If he has to screw the consumer to get it he will. He has that big house on Lake Travis to pay for. And his large amounts of money given to the Republican Party. He's as much a liar as the staff at his dealerships.

  • Pros: Large Vehicle Inventory
  • Cons: Staff, Management, Negotiations, Customer Experience, Atmosphere

Liars and Cut-throats

by Purple31 at Citysearch

After reading the other reviews I see that I'm not the only person that has had a horrible experience with them. I went in January and was approved for a 2007 Dodge Charger. I told the Used Car salesman (Juan) upfront that I would not have the entire down payment until 3wks later, but I had part of it that day.

I drove the car off the lot and 3 DAYS later they started calling my references and demanding that I bring the car back. The manager told me that I should not have been told that but I could bring the car back until I had the remainder of the down payment.

Once that was settled, I had to resign my contract 3 TIMES because they put the wrong name and the wrong VIN# twice. My insurance agent began to get suspicious because I had to keep updating my insurance information with the proper VIN#.

To top it off, I later found out that the address on my phone bill was changed which made one lender kick my deal back because they assumed it was me that was falsifying documents.

I eventually brought the car back voluntarily because I have never received such horrible treatment or service. The used car staff are like vulchers. My salesman was Juan. He cussed at me and my supervisor overheard the conversation. The problems that I experienced with them in those few weeks was enough for me to want to report them to the news station. They are worse than the small dearlerships.

I wont refer anyone to anything that has "Munday" attached to it. The actions are clearly deemed as appropriate from their management team or they wouldnt allow this type of behavior to go on.

DO NOT BUY FROM MUNDAY CHEVROLET. Just to play it safe, dont buy from any MUNDAY Dealership.

  • Pros: NONE
  • Cons: Service is horrible and the sales team are a bunch of liars; Customer service never followed up. I wasnt allowed a copy of any of the 3 contracts that I signed.

Steer clear

by soadnirvana at Citysearch

I picked up one of those car sale ad books at a restaurant yesterday and saw a top of the line 2002 Explorer that was in my price range. I called the used car department and wanted some information about it. The guy whom I spoke to had a yes for everything "clear CarFax report, features, etc". He seemed suspicious to me, but said that he would see my husband and I out there to look at the car. About an hour later I called Munday back to check on the car. The new person I spoke to did not know anything about the car he said, he also told me that it was sold. I told him that the other guy said it was ready for us to come look at, he seemed puzzled. He offered me a Trailblazer that had less miles. I asked him how much? and he wanted 10, 500.00 He said he could go down to 10k and I said NO! I am not paying that much for an old SUV. I said that I would keep looking.

When I had visited Munday in 2006, while my husband was looking for a used Honda for work, I noticed that their lot seemed a bit mediocre. The cars were mostly all filthy dirty and I just felt uncomfortable there. I will not go there again.

  • Pros: Nothing.
  • Cons: They lie about having cars and play on your emotions, also try and rip you off

Horrible, terrbile experience - DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!

by SirRealXTC at Citysearch

We went to buy a used TrailBlazer from Munday chevrolet and it was a horrible experience. We decided that we liked the vehicle and tried desperately to find out the final price of the vehicle. When we reached a deal with the salesman, he made us sign a (non legally binding) piece of paper, which was our commitment, to take to a manager to get approved. They made a counter offer not of a total price but in monthly payments. We told him we were not interested in payments and that our financing was secured. He then asked us to pull up our financing on the Internet so he could see our rate to see if they could beat it(and how much money we could spend)...We were GREATLY offended. We explained that we had a blank check and wanted to buy a vehicle now. We made another offer, which was (again) signed and taken to the sales manager. In the mean time, we checked the Edmunds value of the vehicle. He came back with another counter but by this time we told him bottom line, find out if our offer is acceptable or give us a drive-out price on the vehicle. He left again briefly, during which time we noticed that the line on the office phone was in use (Rodney, the sales manager's name was displayed) and it looked like they were eavsdropping on our private converstaion(we could not confirm this for sure). So far, this process has taken over three hours... Finally, Rodney, the financing guy/sales manager came to talk to us. He was very rude and short. We again made an offer and asked if it was acceptable...he tried to drive it up more again. When I put my foot down and said take it or leave it, the sales manager called yet ANOTHER manager to get approval, which they did not give. We asked for our credit application back, which Rodney literally grabbed and told us that it was their property and we could not have it back. We ended up leaving right then, tired, feeling dirty and used... I will NEVER step foot in Munday Chevrolet again! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!

You Can't Go Wrong Here!!

by lovemycody at Citysearch

Munday Chevrolet is the BEST...(and this is coming from a customer who expects a lot from a dealership)! I purchased a Tahoe from them and everything went smooooth! Very nice location...great showroom with professional employees. Huge selection. I've NEVER met a more personable General Manager at a dealership before who really cares about his customers and doesn't 'hide'. They are tops and I'll continue to purchase my Chevys from Munday Chevrolet!
