Not that great for the price

I got the philly cheesesteak here. I know it may not be completely representative of the types of sandwiches they make here but nonetheless it came from their shop. So I payed about $6 for the smaller sized cheesesteak which was not large at all and barely filled me up. The bread was offered in white or wheat and very fresh. I believe it was a somewhat more healthy version of other cheesesteaks offered elsewhere. The sandwich came out hot which should be a given. It was decent, not bad but not good either. It didn't fill me up and was on the pricey side. There's nothing to special about this place so I probably wouldn't visit again.
- Pros: Everything seemed fresh
- Cons: Expensive, not worth the price
Subway too healthy for you? Then wrap both hands around one of these super-sized bad boys.

The Scene
There are bus station waiting rooms with more flair than the generic, almost antiseptic, furnishings of this nationally franchised sandwich shop: Counter. Chairs, tables. A chip rack. A couple of TVs suspended in the corners. And that's that. Forget about decor: It's pretty much all about the sandwiches at Jersey Mike's and that's OK, because they're generally first-rate.
The Food
The gimmick here is that each sub is freshly prepared. Fresh as in the meats and cheeses for your individual sandwich are machine-sliced from huge hunks right before your eyes. The downside of that, of course, is that it's not as quick as Subway's assembly-line approach. The offerings are heartier and heftier than Subway's (and proportionately a tad more expensive). A giant Jersey Mike's original--provolone, ham, salami, pepperoni, proscuttini and cappacuolo--is a serious undertaking.
As close to home as it gets

I have been a fan of Jersey Mike's since my college days in North Carolina. So imagine my surprise when one opened up right down the street. It was the closest any sandwich shop has come to replicating the New England Grinder. Also the Cheesesteaks are uncomparable to any other since it is one of the BEST I have ever had. This place is hands down the best sandwich shop in town.

Best sandwich shop in Houston

Jersey Mike's is the best place in town to grab a sandwich. The ingredients are top shelf, the atmosphere is enjoyable, the service is prompt and courteous, and the price reasonable. Subway might barely have Jersey Mike's beat on price, but it does not come close on quality. I also recommend the sandwich tray for social and work events. When I had Jersey Mike's provide sandwiches for an event I was hosting, delivery was perfectly on time and the quality as good as always.
- Pros: high quality sandwich, inexpensive, clean
A Trip to Jersey

I have visited Jersey Mikes on Kirby dr several times and I must say every visit has been a pleasure. The subs are excelent and i can say that with confidence since I have tried almost all of them. I highly recomend the italian sub " Mikes way" which means with lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar and oregano. Mmmmm! All the meats and cheeses are sliced right in front of you and the bread is always fresh never stale and hard. The employees always seem to be in a very good mood and are polite and patient with you. I hate to be rushed into a decision, they wont do that here. Also they wear gloves! Alot of places dont make the employees wear them, here they are always on. This place is great! Great subs, great portions and great service. Try it you will like it!
- Pros: Good Quality , clean, Delicious
Wonderful Staff

I read all the ratings and went to Jersey Mike's to try it out, and was not disappointed. The employees all look like they are having a good time, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Their attitudes make me want to come back, and after the first bite of the sub.....yummy!! They have me hooked for life, I just can't wait to get the next store in town. Keep up the good work and keep having fun.
- Pros: Great employees
Subway eat your heart out

I finally found a sandwich shop that my husband will go to! They actually have real serving sizes with freshly sliced meat. By far the best sub shop I have ever been to
P.S. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is to die for!
- Pros: quick, cheap, good
My new favorite for subs!
by verychumpy at Citysearch
This place is truly a cut above the other sub places around. They slice their own meat, which is high quality, doesn't seem full of salt/nitrates, and is very flavorful. The bread is crusty and good, and their vegetables seem really fresh and juicy/crispy. AND, they don't skimp on the oil and vinegar! Blimpie used to be my favorite, but they seem to have gone downhill; I'll be coming back here from now on!
- Pros: high quality ingred., staff are competent, tasty!
- Cons: not open very late, a bit expensive, only one location now
