ive been going to thi salon for about three years now and i have to say that my stylist julia is one of the best..shes always on top of fashion, learning new styles and techniques..she is great at what she does and takes critisisim lightly unlike other stylists...shes always smiling and i just love what she does with my hair...i highly recommend this salon, if you want a great stylist ask for julia..

Love the place!

I go to J Thompson Salon all the time, I am greeted once I walk in and offered a nice drink of water before I even sit down. I love what the stylists do, and respect their artistic vision. It's unfortunate that people wish to write reviews based on a employee leaving, true she may have done a great job but were all adults, and should use this to express what we thought about our visit to the salon, not vent how we miss someone. Just go to the page where they work now and let everyone know how great they are there by writing or posting a review there; that seems to help more then bashing her former employer. This is to inform people about J Thompson and their current employees, and whether or not you were taken care of properly. I have always been treated not only with kindness but extreme professionalism, keep up the Great work ladies and gentlemen

Excellent Place to get your hair styled

J Thompson has always been committed to performing excellent customer service. I am so pleased with my results every time I leave. There is always a consult, so that the stylist can fully understand what results you want to see when you walk out the door. The last time I was in I was not even sure what I wanted, but the stylist patiently walked through everything I liked and did not like about my current style. I walked out with the best cut I have had in a while!! I felt like a brand new person!!Thank you!!!!

The ambience is nice, and the staff is polite. They always want to know "how they can make your day"!!

I also LOVE their product. I use nothing else since I started using their product. If you have not tried it you should. In fact, I just went in the other day to try a new product for flipping and Cynthia helped me find the best product for the feel of my hair. I love it!!!

Excellent Stylists and Hair Salon!!

I would suggest J.Thompson's Salon to anyone!! They have a great staff and I have always got exactly what I wanted in a hair style. I have had hair from subtle to wild and either way I went it turned out fabulous!! I have been going there for over 5 years and have NEVER had an issue. Rachel always does what it takes to get my hair the way that I want it. They follow the saying "that you get what you pay for". You might be able to go some where else and get a CHEAPER hair cut or style but it won't be nearly as GREAT as what J.Thompsons can do. I didn't realize what a great hair cut and color was until I went there. Now, my Mom also goes there and she has never had complaints either. I get compliments on my hair almost on a daily basis and EVERY where that I go. No one has ever not liked it. I never has this many compliments before going there. It is sooooooooo worth it!!!!!

As for the employees getting fired (or leaving), that is just a part of life. It happens in ever business and every company. Everything happens for a reason and a business owner must always keep the best interest of the company at heart. I believe that is what they have done and no one should resent them for making a business decision. Everyone has a choice.

Thank you everyone at J.Thompsons Salon! I love you guys and I appreciate how well you have treated my Mom and I. I will continue going here until my hair is grey or all falls out!!

Awesome place!

I feel this is the best value in town. In the world of hair you get what you pay for and these guys deliver an exceptional value considering how amazing it is to visit this salon. I've been around in Atascocia and Kingwood and you'll be hard pressed to find anyting better. When you want it done right check these guys out.

The Best Salon in Houston!!

I’ve been going to J. Thompson over four years now and Jennifer has always given me the absolute best treatment anyone could expect. There is obviously a smear campaign going on here between a former employee of J. Thompson Salons and the Salon itself. I can’t think of why people like to drag others through the mud. I feel sorry for those who feel they must try to insult her and what she believes. It also saddens me that an online review site like CitySearch allows this kind of activity. Trust me, there are at least a dozen other wonderful employees of J. Thompson Salons (most of whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting), that are more than capable of taking care of you. I will be continuing to go to Jennifer for the long haul.

I'm not entirely certain what any of the previous posts are talking about, but I go to J. Thompson and pay much more for my haircut than most guys would because I've always been recieved well. However, the post made by the salon in response to the sylist's firing really creeped me out. I won't be returning based largely on that post. Thank you for giving me a reason to spend less on my haircut J Thompson!

Rebecca is back in business!

Rebecca is now at Tuscany Village next to Double Dave's.

I too was shocked and puzzled to hear Rebecca was no longer with J Thompson. I've been seeing her for three years, and have never had so many compliments on my hair. Although I've had a couple of other stylists do color and trims in a pinch, I'm following Rebecca. She has great style, great technique, great service, and a great personality to match. People who love what they do, and do it well are rare gems in today's world.

It seems wonderful to me that during a time like this I can still say without any hesitation that God is sovereign and that He is "in control." If God chooses that our business should suffer and even close then there is nothing that can prevent that no matter how hard we try. On the other hand, if God wills that our business continues to be successful in providing the absolute best service in Northeast Houston then nothing can stand in His way. It is our goal to love and serve him in either case. Concerning Rebecca; of course we could not disclose the details of why she is no longer with us. It would be unfair to her and it is inappropriate to say the least. Also, she asked that the details remain confidential and so we will honor that request. We are simply trying to inform our valued guests so there are no surprises when you come in. We felt this was the best course of action. As far as your statement "from what I know, the situation was handled poorly" then as God is my witness; He knows exactly what happened and ultimately we will answer to Him for all our actions. As for me and Jennifer, we will miss her dearly and we wish her the best wherever she lands. To that end I find myself praying for her daily.

I won't be going back...what happened to REBECCA????????

I have been going to the salon for over 2 years. Rebecca is an absolute gem of a person & a FANTASTIC stylist! My hair has never looked better...but what happened to her??? Rebecca went above and beyond what most stylist do. She would actually take the time to explain EXACTLY how to have the "salon look" at home when you try to do it yourself the next day!!!! She sold me many awesome products that ACTUALLY worked. She was loved by so many, and she was always positive & was a complete professional. Rebecca was a precision stylist & had extremely hip & current ideas. My cut looked great ALWAYS!!!! Rebecca was always on time & she never said a bad word about anyone!!! She LOVED her job & from what I could tell, did a TON for J Thompson...however, she is no longer there. I am COMPLETELY bummed, as are about 60 other clients. I of course did not get the whole story, but from what I know, the situation was handled poorly. For me, I was called for confirmation of my appointment & was told that she no longer worked there. It was said in a way that it lead me to believe that she just up & left them!!!!!!! I knew that she would never do that. I was given NO explanation what so ever. Rebecca was a loyal employee that many felt was the backbone of J Thompson!!! The situation is extremely unfortunate & puzzling!! When the word gets out, I think that the community will make note of this & go elsewhere. I know I am & so are others that I have talked to. I will say, I never felt totally comfortable in the salon, except with Rebecca. There was always some wierd vibe, that you couldn't explain. It could have just been me??? But after all of this, I have to wonder....We will see what happens, but I think that this could really be detrimental to the establishment. It is too bad, because it was convenient & the desk staff was so pleasant! I wish them well, but I think that their business will suffer!
