I love both of the Bikram Yoga studios here in Houston. I practice more at the South Blvd location, due to it's location and where I work. It's just easier but when possible, I try to split my time at both studios. They are both great, with wonderful teachers and staff. They are friendly, attentive and very helpful. After my first class, I was hesitant, since I really struggled. The teacher and desk staff were very encouraging and positive. I thought they were crazy but I've stuck with it. It's been one of the best decisions I ever made. I'm loving the way I feel and look. I sleep better, I eat better & I just feel wonderful. This yoga has helped me so much and I'm forever grateful.
Pros: Great hot yoga, friendly staff and teachers, good size yoga room
Cons: Parking can be a little tricky at times

Bikram Yoga Houston (South Blvd Studio) is THE best yoga studio in Houston. It is a beautiful and exceptionally clean facility where all of the instructors know your name and are committed to helping you achieve your best during your practice. This yoga has changed my life, and it is the people who work at the studio that keep me coming back week after week and year after year. The instructors have a broad knowledge of human physiology and are able to answer in-depth questions regarding the specific healing benefits of Bikram Yoga and are actively engaged in helping you to improve your practice. The healing power of this yoga is very real... I have been practicing Bikram Yoga since before and after my indoor rock climbing accident in Summer of 2004 where I fell and broke both of my left lower leg bones just above the ankle. I had to have emergency surgery and now have eight screws and a plate holding my left ankle together. My foot was in a cast for three months after that, and I had physical therapy for one month following. When I got my cast off, I made sure to attend classes at least three times a week and began noticing results immediately. Each week, I gained a little bit more flexibility in my ankle. Now, I can point and flex my right foot almost the same as my left (show them), and it has not even been two full years since the accident. - Lauren Marie
Pros: The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. They truly want to help you improve your yoga practice.
Cons: Someitmes parking can be a problem because the lot is small and you have to park on the street.

THE BEST YOGA STUDIO ANYWHERE. AFTER YOUR FIRST CLASS THE ONLY THING YOU NOTICE IS HOW GREAT YOU FEEL AND LOOK - INSIDE AND OUT. IF YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE GYM THAT ACTUALLY GETS RESULTS THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. The staff is amazing and everyone really does know your name. It has an added bonus of making a summer day in Houston feel pleasant.

I hated going to the gym. Getting on a machine that someone just finish sweating on ...Disgusting. Also I was going to the gym 3 times a week and saw no results. I know that I need exercise to be healthy, so finally I wanted to try something new. I read about Bikram Yoga that you can sweat with out sharing equipment, which is great in my book. I ventured into the Birkram Yoga College of India on South Blvd. I was so scared to try this but after meeting the staff I felt more at ease. They explain everything to you and make you feel comfortable. I entered the class...boy was it hot...like a sauna, but what truly amazed me was the instructor knew my name and was willing to help me out through out the class with the poses. The class was GREAT! I have never sweated that much in my life, but a great sense of energy. Had the best time ever. If youre sick of the gym, don't be afraid to try something new. It may be well worth it.
Pros: Great everything

I've gone to another hot yoga place here in Houston for a long time but thought I'd give this place a try. The room was nice and the dressing room convenient, but I felt like a sardine and they didn't seem to care about anyone's physical limitations. Overall the experience was too generic/manufactured for me.
Pros: Nice dressing room
Cons: No personal attention

South Blvd. has a more "inner-loop" crowd than the Fountainview studio and the room has windows for natural light. The benefits from the yoga are the same, so go to either studio!! Don't worry, even though we all sweat out toxins here, this studio is clean! My mom came here and even SHE said it was clean (and she's got tough standards). Oh yeah, as you can see from that, no age limit!! People in their late teens all the way up to their nineties (for real!!) come here because the teachers make it safe and fun.
Pros: Convenient Location, Lots of Parking, Nice Bathrooms

I have been taking classes here on and off for 2 years. The instructors are all very friendly and the class is easy for beginners to follow and structured so advanced students get the full benefit of the poses as well. The one on Fountainview is a little less stinky than the one on South.
