The Bayou City's own Central Park is part of the city's past, present and future.

This 124-acre park provides residents with a relaxing getaway from downtown living. With the Houston skyline as its backdrop, Buffalo Bayou Park's expansive greenbelt runs from Shepherd Drive on the west to Bagby Street on the east end of the city. These low-stress hike and bike trails meander through the tree-shaded park and along the bayou itself. The park also encompasses Eleanor Tinsley Park (site of Houston's annual 4th of July fireworks), a dog park, and a popular disc golf course.
