Forget parking, you're on the street. Lately they haven't had the taps figured out. Seems like the beers are never quite cold enough. Last four times i've been in there the bud light has been so flat. I give this place four stars because when we go we always have a good time.

The asian bartender gives very good service, I can't think of her name! If you want to give her a hardtime, just bring up her love for the twilight series.

Classic Neighborhood Bar

I like a place where you can walk in the door and know your beer will be waiting for ya on the counter. Little Sarah, Greg and Kathy are great.

• Cons: Parking - The stupid "reserved" parking signs make my head hurt.

Not necessarily a female friendly environment

It's like a smokehouse and any other local bar inside. There wasn't anything spectacular about the service, and there's zero parking. Prices are average for the area of Houston it's located in and all the guys I was with liked it... as the only girl, I just wasn't feelin' it though.

• Pros: Located across the street from AWESOME places, lots of drink/beer variety.
• Cons: Not really a female place, couldn't find the bathrooms.

good service on weeknights; weekends are very crowded

I've always considered the Doghouse to be my "neighborhood" bar, even though I no longer live in Midtown. I'm disappointed that the new owners decided to sever ties with longtime bartenders Jason and Omario (both of whom can now be found a few blocks east at Leons Lounge). Greg is still there, though, and new hires Jennifer and Rachel are top-notch servers. Pay close attention to the drink specials; they're advertised on a poster inside the front door.

• Pros: Greg, Rachel and Jennifer will take good care of you
• Cons: Margarita machine is out of place; new owners should not have let Jason and Omario go

owners shouldn't have sold

I used to love dog house, it had a good neighborhood feel. Now it's turned into another midtown shiny shirt bar. They let go of all of their bartenders (except 4 one) some of the bartenders had been there since the place opened. Every time I go in there now none of the regular's are there, and half of the patrons are wasted. They need to learn how to not over serve people. To bad this used to be a really cool place .

If you're looking for a relaxing bar to meet friends and have a few beers, keep on looking. The Doghouse seems to cultivate excessively drunken and out-of-line behavior with a staff that is unaware of the meanings of "CUT OFF" and "LEAVE." If you?re looking for a UFC match practice round, you might find one here. ARE YOU READYYYY?!?!?!?!

Red brick, dark wooden walls, a faux 10-sided glass fireplace in the center of the room, warm, antiquated lamps and sconces with their dim, amber light, and lots of booths add a sense of charm and intimacy to the Dog House Tavern. It's a great date hang, and many paired-up patrons seem to know. And for sports fans, strategically placed TV sets facilitate game-watching from virtually anywhere inside the amiable walls.

Great joint

Great joint. Very nice people, bar owners Bill & Pam very friendly.

Great place to watch sports, tv's everywhere. Nice foosball table and excellent jukebox.

Very good prices. Hassle free no uptight people from the times I've been there.

I love this bar. Jason is a wonderful bartender, and the people there are great! If you like nice people and good service I suggest you go to The Dog House Tavern.
