where the beautiful people go to be disapointed
by ciadave2002
After being told our first two bottles of wine we ordered were not in stock we finally selected one that they had and the absent minded waiter brought it to the table after we had completed our appetizer. We shared the shrimp with crabmeat cornbread to start the shrimp was great and it was completely destroyed by the cream sauce that was slopped all over the top of it. I then got the Lousiana Redfish which was fine but no better then grilling a piece of fish at home. My wife got the pork chop with madera wine sauce which was a huge slab of meat but brined so heavily in salt that it took away any essence of what the chop could have been. Overall if I was going out for a $100.00 + dinner ibiza would not be the place. Service was awful, food was forgetable, and atmosphere was stuffy with all the beautiful people acting "beautiful" and as if they could have their own reality show.
- Pros: outdoor dining
- Cons: service, food, atmosphere
Good food and Decor
by jjoe74
I came with a group of 15 and made reservations for a birthday party. The decor and set-up of the restaurant is eloquent and nice ambience. I order the lamb chops and have to say that it was excellent. The portions of all the entrees were more then enough, excellent wine, and the wait staff was excellent in service. I would have to agree that it is pricey but you do get your money’s worth. Only con I have is that they actually charged me $2 per slice to cut a cake I brought in myself which I felt was overbearing since spending nearly $800 in dinner and wine. I’d definitely would come again for the food and recommend everyone to try it out at least once, just be prepared to come on an empty stomach and have your wallet ready.
- Pros: Food, Decor, Service, Portions
- Cons: Charged for cake cutting
service is poor

We were there a week ago for a dinner. Unfortunately, the waitress waiting for our table was extremely rude! It was a very unpleasant experience. We really regret that we went.
- Pros: ok food
- Cons: rude servers.
Very expensive

This was one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. They had really good food and fare prices. But suddenly they increased the prices. The cocktails are extremely pricey. I was really disappointed. Great loss!!!
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: Really expensive
Mimicked my accent??
by CSMobileUser2
I've eaten at Ibiza twice before and loved it, the food and wine is up to my English standards. We have got relatives over from the uk which we are taking there tonight. However, when phoning to book our table this morning, the person who took my booking thought I'd hung up and started mimicking my accent. I'm not impressed at all by this because it's so rude an unacceptable. I hope that person is working tonight as I have a very big tip for him - learn some manners!
Great service great food

We are from louisiana, so the menu had a noticable amount of the cajun and creloe cusine we know and love, We were greeted by a friendly young blonde erin who was very knowledgeable about the menu the wine, and the resturaunts both ibiza and catalan, she told us of catalans chef chris who we are dying to try, and gave us a brief history on ibizas chef charles, who suprisingly made his way to the table, wow!!! talk about service we were so impressed, then our apps came which was the shrimp and crab corn bread another must try WOW !!! the dinner and experiance is truly worth a try, they will make you feel like your right at home, there is a certain chemistry here that most resturaunts cant capture, and boy yall have got it!!! thank you all for a memmorable evening.
- Pros: The best staff, wine list and food in town
- Cons: none what so ever
Very Good, but not a good value for money.

We had wanted to try Ibiza for quite some time and finally went on my wife's birthday. The ambiance was nice, nothing great; patio seating was nice but a bit warm. We started out cocktails which were outrageously priced.
Appetizers: SPANISH OLIVES, JAMON SERRANO AND MANCHEGO CHEESE - nice to start, but slicing ham and cheese doesn’t take a culinary genius - 2 Stars. LONG STEM ARTICHOKE HEARTS WITH SARDINIAN STYLE FREGOLA PASTA AND BLACK OLIVE OIL - very nice, tender with mild flavor with something like couscous-3 Stars.
Entrees: GRILLED LOUISIANA REDFISH WITH SHELLFISH COURT BOUILLON AND SPICY TASSO RISOTTO - Nice flaky fish cooked perfectly, nice mild broth, the risotto was the stand out in the dish, it was excellent - 4 Stars. MOROCCAN GRILLED SHRIMP WITH GOAT CHEESE POLENTA - Shrimp were small but not over cooked, nice flavor. Polenta was pureed and relative tasteless: 3 Stars.
Wine: CADE-SAUVIGNON BLANC-“PLUMPJACK” NAPA VALLEY CA – Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price, however nowhere on the label was “Plumpjack” mentioned but I later learned this is a “value label” from the Plumpjack folks.
They brought out “Loving Cup” of cotton candy with a sparkler on top for my wife’s birthday which she thoroughly enjoyed.
All in all, a bit pricey relative to food quality.
BIGGEST COMPLAINT!!!!!! You are forced to use Valet Parking or park somewhere on the street and walk up. When we arrived there were more than a dozen empty spaces with “cones” blocking them for the valet. The valet took my car and pulled into a spot less than 20 feet from where I stopped at the valet stand!!! I don’t need or want valets parking my car, but you have no choice. In order to have my voice heard regarding the valet issue, I won’t be returning to Ibiza until they learn to let the valets walk and reserve the parking up from for customers.
- Pros: Wine Selection and Prices
- Cons: Price/Parking

The Best Place in H-Town
by thewinelady
Starting with our Hostess Kelly, and ending with our Server Chris B we had a fabulous time and the greatest service. Our reservation was perfect and the hostess came to the lounge to take us over to our dining table with a huge smile. No electronic pagers here. And staff happy to be on the job ...what a concept!!
Our server Chris is a wine expert (as far as we are concerned) whose knowledge of the wines and the list proved invaluable. I was entertaining a group from out of State and they were very impressed and likened their experience to some of their favorite NYC restaurants. Every dish recommended was as promised and wonderful. Kirby Fries rule !
Everyone tries to copy these fries and no one has succeeded. Best restaurant wine prices we have found well. Great job !! Oh and what ever the occasion the cotton candy presentation will make you smile and bring out the child in you - we can all use more of that.
Good Job all !!
- Pros: Best Servers/Hostesses in Town/Food/Wine in town
- Cons: None
A truely WONDERFUL experience
by KTmlady
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ibiza a couple of weeks ago while dining out with my family for my mothers birthday. Our servers name was eric, and although an intimidating figure, he truley provided us with a wonderful dining experience. He provided an excellent choice of wine, which was significantly lower than we were used to paying, and his explanations and reccomendations for the food were on point and to the tee. He couldnt have been more sweet or sarcastic for that matter in taking care of us. I am a goat cheese fiend and the Local goat cheese appetizer and morrocan shrimp were to die for. So much special attention was paid to my mother who was not optomistic about turning a year older, it really made her night. I must say it was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had as a family in a long time and we will be back for sure.
- Pros: Service, wine, and atmosphere
- Cons: overly crowded
