Avoid this place
by TiHarw at Citysearch
I have been here twice, once when I was the bride (left promptly without buying) and this week for a bridesmaid dress (which I had to have). Both times the staff seemed to be in a panic, rushing here and there but not really helping anyone. No one really seems to know what is going on.
Once in the car I realized they had mixed up the slip that I will need to pick up the dress when it is ready. I had the ticket of the girl behind me in line.
Fortunately we found her (after chasing her in the parking lot) and we switched the pick-up slips back.
Basically, this was a chaotic experience. Stressful, worrisome, and not at all pleasant.
- Pros: parking
- Cons: customer service, chaotic environment
Worst Experience EVER!! So Rude!!
by ZNismoGal at Citysearch
So we head to David's Bridal after an OK experience at alfred angelos. We expected pretty much the same experience... However.. my " associate" Rushes to me and starts talking and asking my size and insists I'm the same size as my jeans.. and I try to explain to her that I just came from a bridal store and the dresses that have been fitting me are not the same size as my jeans... "Well" she snarled "This is no another bridal shop". And the she proceeded to grab dresses that I said I didn't like and push me to the dressing room.
And when my mother and maid of honer suggested a few dresses she said it would take hours to try them all on.. I told her fine, and to take the ones she brought out and I would just try on the ones my family picked ( in the proper size).
After the 3rd dress I tried on she started shoving veils into my scalp and exclaim how perfect the most hideous dress was... from what little I could understand.. her English was broken at best.
And after I said I didn't like it she disappeared and we didn't see her the rest of the time I was there... except as we were leaving... She was chatting with some other workers ina corner.
Avoid this store... the sales staff is terrible.
- Pros: large selection of dresses and sizes
- Cons: rude, rude, pushy, rude.. did i say rude?
HIDEOUS COSTUMER SERVICE!!!
by Marturrubiates at Citysearch
You have to try to guess you size and pay up front full amount like other reviews say. Costumer service is poor. My dress came two days ago all wrinkled and didn't check. I went yesterday and a gentleman said "iron it yourself" or book it to be steamed. If you are paying for quality you expect quality. That store doesn't have it!
Now, How am I gonna iron my dress? :'(
STAFF SHOULD BE TRAINED
Oh, and yes I wandered in the store because no one will help and wasn't offered a drink, or anything!
FIND ANOTHER STORE!!!
- Pros: Find another store
- Cons: costumer service
Horrible...

San Felipe store IS HORRIBLE!
I had to pick out MY OWN DRESSES, and I HAD to put them ON BY MYSELF. NO HELP, no ZIPPING, no UNZIPPING. At one point I had to have a complete stranger unzip me. SO RUDE!!!! They were snippy, they were NOT patient whatsoever. HERE I have 4 BM who had to get their dresses there-because of location, and so that was an additional $400. When on of my BM went to try on her dress, she was left standing there - waiting on the clerk to come back and zip her all up, and the BM saw the "clerk" helping her-walkED right out the front door-with her purse-LEAVING FOR THE DAY. She never said one word to my BM, just left her there. Whne she then tried to complain the MANAGER SAID "IM TOO BUSY, GET IN LINE AND I WILL GET TO YOU..." for a freaking COMPLAINT. Secondly, when I tried to call and complain I was told: "I DO NOT HAVE TO HEAR THIS, AND HUNG UP ON ME!" THAT PLACE IS HORRIBLE. I left there SO angry-instead of excited and HAPPY! Furthermore, after I ordered my shoes, WHICH TOOK 3 FREAKING WEEKS to get in, and then another 3 to have them dyed....and then another 2 weeks, to get them shipped back for pickup-THE SHOES HAD BEEN RUINED! The shoes were STICKY, and when I put them on, they were comp. too wide. The material had been stretched out. WHEN I WENT TO COMPLAIN I was told YOU HAVE TO KEEP THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN DYED-I was like HELL NO... YOU SCREWED UP MY SHOES so YOU will be exchanging them for a DIFFERENT PAIR. Then I was accused of "DID YOU EVEN TRY THEM ON WHEN YOU BOUGHT THEM?" ...I was like "MA'AM why the HELL would I NOT try them on? When I went to pick up my dress, which also took 2 months to get, at the counter the man there said "ARE YOU SURE THIS IS YOUR DRESS? --and not in the jokingly manner..."I DONT THINK THIS IS YOUR DRESS.. DO YOU HAVE A RECIPT" I almost jumped across the counter.

Poor Delivery

I went to David's Bridal because they are widely known, and have a large-ish selection of gowns that can be purchased from all over the country - as my fiancee's sisters are out of state. I went in with my 3 sisters and my mother, and the first sales clerk seemed as though she didn't know what she was doing. Shortly thereafter we were sent a different sales clerk, she was a HUGE help, and so sweet!! We ordered our dresses after 4 hours at the store, finally. My matron of honor chose a different dress than the two bridesmaids and paid for everything that night, with all the commotion, the wrong dress was ordered - and paid for - and no one noticed. I went in last week to pick up the dresses, and realized the wrong dress was ordered, by the clerk, AND charged. She finally tracked down another dress, at another location, after an hour and a half of waiting in the understaffed store - and I was reassured the dress would be in NO LATER than Monday, as it needs to be altered. The dress, that day was on sale for $80 from the original price of $110, which they charged us for (after reimbursing us for the more expensive dress) - but we were not offered the sale price when we had to switch - after their mistake. No one called me today - so I called in, and spoke with a clerk who was already very rude - but then ordered me to call them back in 10 minutes because she was too busy to handle my call! When I called back, they informed me that I could not get the dress until Wednesday, and there is no discount. I was not upset initially, but it seems to me that no one at the store feels any sense of urgency, or remorse - my wedding is in 28 days!! I am taking this to the corporate level...and I would not recommend anyone use David's Bridal.
- Pros: awesome mirrors in fitting room, provided bras for the dresses to try on
- Cons: horrible attention to detail, understaffed
Not aloud an opinion

I always thought that picking out a wedding gown would be the most amazing and exciting time of the whole experience leading up to the wedding day. Well at this store I was wrong. I moved from Des Moines, IA and I had stopped in at one of the David Bridals, and received amazing service, so I decided to look again when I moved to Houston, and San Felipe was the closest to me. The wedding consultant did not listen to any of the dress choices I wanted, which was a beach type style, she brought me only big poofy princess gowns, I knew which one I had wanted because I saw it in the catalog, I had to beg her to grab it for me, after 2 hours of begging she finally gave in and it was perfect. I gave her a second chance with the bridesmaid dresses we chose the perfect gown because she had no input until I asked for the colors, she said they were available, so I pre-ordered two of the burnt orange and two of the chocolate brown. 1 month till my wedding date I was told that they don't have brown, and they don't know if they ever will, nor do they have the orange I requested, but they have pink which was close. I had no choice I had to order a different dress, but this time I went to a different David Bridal store and they found me the perfect dresses in a timely manner. So I love David's Bridal but I do not love the San Felipe store.
- Pros: Wonderful prices and selection
- Cons: San Felipe store ONLY has awful and pushy service!
Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply.

In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
Most HORRIBLE Experience Ever
by dprincess07 at Citysearch
I was under the impression that shopping for your wedding gown was supposed to be a good experience....atleast one of the good experiences for a bride-to-be. Well let me start off by saying it was the worst. The consultants at the San Felipe Davids Bridal seemed as if they did not have any sense of customer service and what it means nor making someone especially a new bride feel comfortable and welcomed....The consultants were very unknowledgeable and not helpful at all....they did not help with the dresses...picking them or helping with putting them on or taking them off. They never found out what type of dress I was looking for or what price range I was looking to stay within. That was the second time giving them a try because I thought it was just a bad day on my first visit. Needless to say that was the worst service I have ever had and I will not be back .I will gladly take myself and my checkbook to Alfred Angelo..They are EXCELLENT!
