Overrated! 5 stars? Why? NOT RECOMMENDED
by spartyhoustontx
I saw the reviews and had to try this place. What a waste of money! The food was OK, but way overpriced. I went with my wife and we ordered the Shrimp Etouffee and the Catfish Filets entree. The Etouffee was not very good, with the roux not brown or the right flavor. The jambalaya side was good, along with the french bread and cornbread, but I didn't come for the sides. The Catfish was good, but $15.99 for the entree with two sides and bread is TOO MUCH. Go to RAZOO'S instead! the atmosphere was very loud with the UT game on near the bar, and a loud TV on the other side.
- Pros: None
- Cons: TOO PRICEY, loud atmosphere
BLAH seafood for too much money!

this place is a complete rip off. You can buy 3 pound crawfish here for over 20.00 where they have them in other places now for 2.95 a pound! and they taste better!!!!
I just can't belive i wasted 69.00 on food here! Their gumbo tasted like ROUX WATER with rice
What Excitement!

Went here for the first time on a Friday. Crowded, yes.. but not bad for a Friday night. They got you in and out fast. The food was fast and seating wasn't too hard to find. Had to share an extended seating table with another group, but it wasn't bad at all. Had the shrimp basket. came with fries and french bread. VERY YUMMY!!!! there was a dip that we used for the shrimp that was better than cocktail sauce. Loud, but great for ppl watching and impressive service! Will definitely go back again! (2 shrimp baskets and 2 sodas = $25 - but well worth it!)
- Pros: Great food and fast
- Cons: loud, not good for first dates
No Flavor..Bad Service
by mulletgurl2002
I ordered fried crawfish but I got overly greasy breading and fries so greasy they were mushy. The person that took my order was extremely rude and the prices weren't that great. I will never go back.
cajun wings

their cajun wings are outstanding, and be sure to save room for bread pudding. i've been going to the richmond and westheimer locations for years.
Dont Believe The Hype...
by lauraepp80
We live in League City and we wanted to go get "the best" crawfish...so we citysearch best cajun and Ragin Cajun has a 9.7... Yeah its far, but we think... "good crawfish? worth it!"... Well It wasnt! Not only did we drive 45 minutes to get there but when we did arrive we saw prices...3lbs of crawfish for 22 bucks. And not just that but most of the crawfish were the size of a dime. The only way I can figure someone rating this restuarant more than a 2, is that it must be managment or employees trying to get people in there. We left ...25 dollars poorer and hungry! The taste was spicy, which was good. However, THAT, is the only compliment I can give Ragin Cajun. Do not believe the hype. This is not worth your time or money.
- Pros: Good Taste.
- Cons: Horrible Value., Small Portions., Bad Lighting.

Watch out for the Margs
by megyn1
Friendly, awesome service...miss my favorite waitress Amy! Great relaxed fun atmosphere...but watch out for the Margaritas...they will get you! Love those Mardi gras Oysters and crawfish too!
Decisions are familiar but difficult at this festive chain celebrated for bayou vittles.

In Short
Clean-cut Memorial kids and families rub shoulders with Wrangler-clad cowboys and tattooed regulars. Witness the look of mudbug madness in the eyes of devotees huddled at the communal tables. Half-shell fans slurp oysters at the bar. Crawfish, a seasonal draw for Ragin', come steaming, crowned with righteously spicy potatoes and corn on the cob. Too hungry to peel? Try crawfish étouffée or the grilled snapper, fresh and neat with lemon. Don't reach for Tabasco--seafood-packed gumbo is devilishly piquant. Do dip freely into the stellar homemade remoulade.
Cajun dosn't get any better than this!
