Bad service - Good foods
by cgbuilder at Citysearch
The service was extremely poor. After we were seated for more than 20 minutes, no server come to our table to greet or taking order. I have to address the problem with the manager. Everything else went well after that. The foods were good.
Should we wasting our time and spending our money at the restaurant that don't care much about their customers???
Dare to come back!!!
- Pros: The foods and portions
- Cons: Service, service, service...really need improvement.
Great atmosphere

I went for the first time with a large group for a birthday celebration. This place is great for large groups, however, the food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I expected prices to be high since the restaurant seemed very upscale but they were reasonable. There was a live pianist! Great atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back and I'll be trying another dish in hopes that it'll be better than my last!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, great prices
- Cons: Very noisy
Bad Service - Decent Food
by Silly_Mongoose at Citysearch
Our dining experience here was sub par. The hostess forgot to tell our waitress we were seated. After 10 minutes of waiting we received our drinks (wine and vodka martini), which were stiff and good. The blue cheese olives in the martini were nice. We ordered the crab cannelloni and gnocci. The order got mixed up and we got linguine. Once everything was straightened out we received our food and it was tasty. Portions are very large. We made 1/2 orders and still took home food. All in all the food was good but service was bad - I guess that makes this a better take out type place.
- Pros: Food is decent.
- Cons: Service was aweful.
Highly overated

I had reservations and still waited 30 minutes for a table. When I asked about it I was informed that 'at nice restaurants they dont seat you right away so you'll go to the bar for a while.' I had reservations at Pappas Brothers Steakhouse the week before and was seated right away. I'd heard on the radio that Maggianos west the best italian in town, but I was very disapointed with the quality of service and food. If you want good italian food, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
- Pros: none
- Cons: eveything
Just Average

I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about - Maggiano's? There are tons of Italian restaurants in Houston that have better food, better service, and aren't chains! I've been to this location a few times, and I'm not impressed. It's just... AVERAGE>
All bark, little bite

We went for Sunday lunch, so maybe it was just a bad time. Our waiter was watching football. No, I'm not joking. I went to the restroom while I was waiting on a refill and he was at the bar watching the game. Then, literally at least ten minutes after he took our order, he came back and asked what I ordered again. This was after we had waited ten minutes for them to fill up our water glasses or even come to our table in the first place. Must've been a good game. I had the angel hair with "Mike's special sauce". The special sauce was neither special nor good. I shared my friend's lasagna instead. The lasagna was the only redeeming quality about this visit. It was delicious, and enough for both of us. The service, however, left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Pros: The lasagna
- Cons: Service, "Special sauce"
Valid alternative

I would never have eaten here had it not been for a recent flash flood that had my car stuck in a parking garage near the restaurant.
Service was excellent. Huge portions at huge prices for Southern Italian fare.
I did enjoy the Tiramisu. Yum!
Disappointing

I took a group of potential employees for a nice, but casual dinner on a Tuesday evening. I have been told good things about Maggiano's but personally wasn't all that impressed. I had the lemon and herb salmon, and it was quite dry and boring. I don't recall anyone else at the table oo-ing and ah-ing over their entrees either. It wasn't particularly bad, it just did not live up to expectations and was not worth the $$. I probably will not return-- certainly not for a business dinner.
- Pros: Friendly waiter
- Cons: Dull food
