depends on what you expect
by Huntmiester
the overall visit was adequate, employees were actually suprisingly rude, and that made me angry, everything else was fine, you get what you pay for, but i did NOT expect poor service
- Pros: worth $2.00
- Cons: bad service, dirty, bad screening, small room=too social
You get what you pay for and that's it!!
by jennpetvet
Yes, you do get what you pay for--and that's it!! We got a movie for a dollar fifty. Just don't go to the restroom--they are filthy!! There was no hand soap, several stalls were out of service, several stalls had broken locks, and I literally had to hold my breath because of the smell. The theater floors were so dirty and greasy. And yes, I did notice a lot of people socializing, letting their kids talk, walk around and cry during the movie. Overall, a dissapointing experience. I would only go to this movie theater again if I had no money and my kids wanted to go--even then I would probably stay home, at least our bathrooms here are clean.
- Pros: Price
- Cons: Filthy restrooms, Filthy theatres
good price
by LauraT
Can't beat the price, $1.50 per ticket. We had some change & bought snacks.
Employees were pleasant, the theatre was nice & cool; definitely worth it & we will come back!
- Pros: clean, cool theatre
- Cons: none
Nasa Dollar Movie is the place to go.
by slaterlover
I just felt I had to write this review after reading the previous reviews on this theater. My husband and I went last night and it was nothing like the previous reviews on here SAID IT WAS. The staff was very friendly and they were very nice, the theater smelled very clean and after the movies were over they did go in there and clean it all up while us and everyone else was waiting for their current movie to start. I saw no dirt, no broken chairs, and the air worked fine. We had a great time. The prices people have been saying before this review have stated that the prices were high, well they are not, the popcorn is the same has cinemark and the pearland movies, the DRINKS are TWO DOLLARS cheaper that anywhere else, and you get a refill on both the large drink and large popcorn. We got our tickets and large popcorn and drink all for $ 13. 50. At night time you cant even get tickets for 2 for this amount at any other theater, let alone drinks and popcorn too. WE PLAN TO GO HERE ALL THE TIME NOW AND IN THIS TIME OF THE TERRIBILE ECONOMY ANY AMOUNT OF SAVINGS IS A GOOD THING. WE RECOMMEND THIS THEATER TO EVERYONE AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME.
- Pros: Ticket prices are only $2.00, nice location, drinks and popcorn refill and less money
- Cons: I saw no cons, we enjoyed it very much
1.50 give's them the right to be rude?
by saysomething
As I sit here and read the reviews made by others I wonder what people are thinking when they write. One complains the service and food are lousy, the other says what do you expect you get what you paid for, it was only a 1.50. To the later I ask since when does it cost money to keep something clean? The cinema obviously has somesort of cleaning supplies on hand to keep it as it is now, what would it hurt to add a little extra elbow grease and clean it right? For that matter, since when does it cost money to be polite? If a person is working there, the person either A. applied for the job and was hired for the job they went in seeking or B. was forced to work there by some family member. I'm thinking the choice is A, this is America where we have the freedom to choose where we work, so if you freely walk into a place, seek a job and get hired to do the job at a dollar amount agreed upon when you took the job why not do it with a smile, efficiency and a kind word? Customer service is going down the tube because people accept rudeness from others and blame it on, "oh maybe they're having a bad day" life is hard, we all have bad days that doesn't mean you have the right to be mean or rude, get over it, or get a job where you don't have to talk to the public.
- Pros: employs people
- Cons: dirty, dirty, dirty, broken seats and equipment, rude people
a TRUE and REAL theater review

Despite the dribble that SAS7474 said, it truly doesn't matter what kind of day someone is having at work. EVERYONE'S workplace is not fun; it is not called your playplace. Get over it and yourself and if you get paid to stand around and do nothing but tear a ticket and scoop popcorn then you have nothing to whine about. If we go to a theater we expect people to be curteous. The prices are cheaper, but the popcorn usually is stale, but is the exact same price. It is give and take; one thing that SHOULD be done is to have USHERS (if the dollar theaters and regular theaters can AFFORD someone at minimum wage) in movies to get stupid people to shut up, turn OFF your phones, and stop texting. It would be cheap and would allow moviegoers to get into the movie instead of what some little moron is doing because their parents did not have the tact or brains to teach them manners.
Personally speaking, it is that behavior and more that makes us (and many others) just WAIT until it gets on DVD. Why watch a movie that is supposed to be a horor film that is rated PG-13 in the theater when you can see the real deal as an Unrated movie on DVD? If other people are supposed to control your children because your parenting lacks, then I suggest the theaters go with the USHER thing because the whole "Please don't add your own soundtrack" thing isn't working.
If you have a theater that looks and smells like trash, then that's all you will attract; which, in the LONG RUN won't do anything but make a bad situation worse. We don't have the same so-called ADD (farce!) problems and can sit there for a couple hours and not talk and be a spaz because we don't have the need to attach ourselves because we are pathetic. We also don't NEED to have a cheap date to have fun (like some; why not just stay home then?) and have been more inclined to spend our money elsewhere; at least on DVD you own it and can watch it whenever.
OVERALL; good but could be better, you get your "money's worth".
- Pros: cheap tickets, not as crowded, good location.
- Cons: various problems with equipment, food and drinks same price but not worth it, same noise as regular theater (if not worse) from other patrons.
Sometimes people surprise me!!!

I have been a movie goer as far back as I can remember. I LOVE going to the movies, and I LOVE taking my children.
I have read different reviews about PREMIER NASA DOLLAR 8 theater... some good and some bad. While everyone is entitled to their opinion...some just annoy the hell out of me.
People complain about this or that. The air is not working, or it was dirty. The people aren't friendly, managament was thoughtful enough. I waited too long, It's always something. The ONE thing that everyone seems to forget is that it is a DOLLAR THEATER.
My goodness... you pay a freakin' $1.50 to watch a new release movie. A FREAKIN' DOLLAR FIFTY. Why are you complaining? You didn't go the the other theaters where you are paying $7 - $9 to watch the movie. The popcorn/snacks/drinks are still reasonable comsidering IT IS A MOVIE THEATER!!!! And customer service????well you get what you pay for. And how do you know if the person behind the counter has had a great or awful day? Well, ??? Jeez people, remember where you are at....a bargain priced place for entertainment. What did you go there for...the people, the drinks/snacks, or the freakin' movie you paid $1.50 for?
Personally, the experience for me is EXACTLY what I paid for. My tickets were handed to me. The drinks/snacks I paid for were handed to me, and the movie I paid for was shown on the big screen. Will I go back???? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Especially on 2 for 1 Tuesdays... YES, for $1.50 two people can get in for the price of one. Why complain???? Beats waiting 3-5 months for a movie to go to DVD.
Rethink your actions and words before placing them out for all the world to see!!!!!
BUNCH OF THIEVES

I TOOK MY KIDS TO SEE A LATE MOVIE ON SATURDAY NIGHT BECAUSE THEY COULDNT WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY. MY 5 YR OLD FELL ASLEEP AT THE END AND FORGOT HER LITTLE PINK PRINCESS PURSE AND STUFFED ANIMAL. WE REALIZED WHEN WE GOT HOME 20 MINUTES LATER AND CALLED BACK TO SEE IF THEY FOUND IT. JUDY SAID SHE HAD IT AND WILL HOLD IT FOR ME UNTIL TOMORROW. I WENT BACK EARLY AFTER NOON SO SHE CAN SAY SHE CANT FIND IT NOW AND DOESNT KNOW WHERE IT IS. MANAGER WAS CALLED AND REPLIED THAT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID SHE HAD IT AND NOT TAKE RESPONSIBITY. EVERYONE SHOWED LACK OF CUSTOMER COURTESY AND THOUGHTFULNESS FOR A LITTLE GIRLS BIRTHDAY PRESENT.
- Cons: UNPROFESSIONAL
Airconditioner Out
by Bnoerr
My husband and I took our granddaughters to see Nim's Island. After purchasing the tickets, we had a 45 minute wait. When it was time to go into the theater where Nim's was showing, we noticed the airconditioning wasn't working, which they were aware of. Not once did anyone let us know this during our long wait, even when we purchased the tickets. My husband has Parkinson's, so there was no way we could sit in a hot, stuffy theater. My husband got our money back, but we were upset about the time we wasted by them not informing us of the problem. This was the first time for us to go to the Nasa Dollar Cinema, and it was very disapointing for us and the girls.
AMAZING

I LOVE the low prices!!! Yeah, it's not the cleanest, but do you really expect it to be? It is comfortable, relaxed, and clean enough to get by. They play good movies, and as far as the "high price" of food is concerned, it's actually very reasonable for movie theater food, plus, they have to make a little bit of money somewhere. My tip to all is get the large popcorn when in groups...you get a free refill!! Overall I rate it an A for such outstanding prices and nice people.
- Pros: Nice people, CHEAP, and comfortable
