worst experience ever

my wife and son and i just tried this place at about 530pm on a Sunday. The people were courteous but the buffet was wretched. Perhaps we should have ordered off the menu. We were the only people in the place and saw a full buffet so went that route, unfortunately forgetting the eternal cycle of buffets.... no customers= old food= less customers= worse food...etc.

I trusted the reviewers on this site but was sorely disappointed. I will NEVER return.

The past reviews are old and outdated. Ruby's is under new management and is much better than several years ago. The owner and staff have wonderful personalities. I give them 5 stars. As for the food, the buffet is good but like all buffets, better if there are more people dining and the food is replaced frequently. Ordering of f the menu is great. Their shrimp is very large and plump and the Broccoli Beef is wonderful.

• Cons: If it isn't busy you should order off the menu.

love this place

i have been eating here for 10 years, as far as in the city of pearland, this is the best and original chinese resturant. although the buffet does not have a lot of extras like crawfish and sushi like some of the other houston area buffets do, the price is worth it still.

Food was fair, service was good. The buffet had only a very limited selection.
