My favorite! by Kathy S. at InsiderPages

The best restaurant in Pearland period. It is loud but the room to the left of the bar is much quieter than the rest of the place. We have a baby (with sensitive ears) so that is where we always ask to sit. The building is beautiful, they really put some thought into it. My only regret is they don't have the specials available all the time - my favorite dish (shrimp) is one of the specials.
PROS: The Best!
CONS: Some dishes only available as specials
Never Coming Back
by hippiechick44 at Citysearch
Me and my fiance came into to eat (we ate at Gringos frequently) ordered our food, ate it, got our check and left. We made it a little way down the road when he realized he forgot his cell phone on the table. He calls it using mine and it rings a few times. The 3rd time it goes straight to voice mail (someone turned it off). We get there, go inside, and we are immediately approached by a waiter (not our own waiter but one that had walked by our table a few times) and he asked "whats up?" when nothing was mentioned to him or anyone else yet about coming back for our phone. It all seemed a bit suspicious. Needless to say my fiance never got his phone back and I never received a call on mine in reguards to it. The manager did not seem to care and didn't offer anything to make the situation better for us. We go to other Gringos but we totally boycott this particular location. If you go please keep your valuables within sight.
- Pros: consistent good food
- Cons: theivery/service
Good Tex-Mex food for a chain restaurant
by happydachsies at Citysearch
If you go to other chain restaurants for Tex-Mex, I would say that this is the best out of all of them. The fajitas meat is juicy and lean - no fat and very tasty and moist. Their Silver Star margarita is excellent - they don't skimp on the tequila here! The chips are not greasy (tastes almost like bake) but it's very nice. We love to go to this place when we have cravings for Tex-Mex.
- Pros: Good food, drinks, and service
- Cons: Long waits but it's expected
Best Tex-Mex around!!
by dining4u at Citysearch
Excellent food! My very favorite is the Pollo Marisco, no other TexMex can compare. The "Cobb" salad would be my next favorite. I have never had bad service at the one in Pearland or any of the other's. There is sometimes a waiting list, but I won't wait more than 30 min. anywhere and I never had to wait more than that at Gringo's.
- Pros: Great Food!
- Cons: Atmosphere a little cheesy!

Great Green Sauce
by mscoco22 at Citysearch
I love the GREEN SAUCE, the chips, and the fajitas!!!! The only thing that I didn't like about the one in Pearland is they close too early
- Pros: good green sauce
- Cons: Pearland location closes too early
Fantastic green sauce, Terrible service
by sallyloudmouth at Citysearch
Pearland location: Food is fantastic. The bar is commonly the fastest way to eat. Either way the service is terrible. The bartenders ignore you and the waitstaff likes to disappear for long periods at a time. I can't tell you the number of times I've had my food comped.
It's sad that it's only the food that brings me back.
All other locations have wonderful service!
Oh and the chips taste store bought!
I hope that the new location at 288 & 518 has great service so we won't have to make the drive to 45!
- Pros: green sauce, guacamole, drinks
- Cons: service, service, service
Great!

Since my first visit to this Pearland institition in 1993, I have found the food to be very consistent, affordable, and overall just plain good. The new building decor is outstanding. My favorite is the Toro room with the authenic bullheads. My favorite dish is the Pollo Marisco - rather than me describing it, just try it! Go early or go late becaus ethe place is always busy - very busy!
- Pros: Quality, Value, Ambience
- Cons: Crowded, Crowded, Crowded

- Pros: Free Icecream, Fajitas
- Cons: None
Stafford Gringos is the best!!
by phatboi at Citysearch
We love the Stafford Gringo's!! We've tried the Gringo's in San Antonio and while the food is good the service is stinks. My wife is big on Piña Coladas and for some reason she loves the one from Gringo's, but its got to be "Rigo's". We order one when he was out and wasn't the same. He's the friendliest bartender, and he can really turn up a Piña Colada, I don't know what it is about his, but they are out of this world. Keep on smilin' Rigo! We love ya, Stafford!!
- Pros: RIGO's Piña Coladas, Fajitas, Rigo's Piña Coladas
GRINGO'S in Pearland
by makidwell at Citysearch
You know, I really like their food, but I do not like the noise level. It was bad in their old building and worse in the new one, but even still I love the food. I will often fight the crowds (and I do mean CROWDS) there to eat my favorite dishes, but sometimes the noise level makes my head hurt, ha!
- Pros: Good Food, Good Drinks, Decent Service
- Cons: , TOO NOISY
