What users are saying:
A cousin to the nearby Tremont House hotel, this Italian bakery is the perfect setting for beignets and coffee.

The Scene
It's one of the most civilized spots in the Strand District. The pretty patio, set back from the hubbub of the street, entice people to eat breakfast or lunch in the afternoon sunshine. Inside, a glass counter case displays sinful pastries, cakes, cookies and pies. Small white tables dot the clean, white room illuminated by sun pouring in from the long windows.
The Food
Try the fruit plate with banana-nut bread or the Mexican-style breakfast burritos for breakfast. If you need a little mid-morning pick-me-up, grab a beignet and a cup of the reliably good coffee. At lunchtime, homemade soups and sandwiches offer a quick, satisfying bite.
Hidden Secret

The Phoenix bakery is a great place to eat. It is somewhat hidden on the Strand which adds to the appeal. We go for breakfast quite a bit and get the breakfeast burritos which are great with their salsa. The beignets are also good. All in all there is something for everyone.
