Delish! Our favorite place!. Seriously - we go once a week... the show, the food, the whole atmophere! The waitstaff is very friendly and so is the manager! We've never had a bad meal there - and I have to say that no one can beat their fried rice - it is AMAZING. I don't know what they do to it (I've tried to recreate it at home) but I could eat a tub of it! The only down side if there is one at all is that you smell like a japanese grill for a while afterwards! :)

Knife-wielding chefs put on a show at this communal Japanese grill.. In Short
Benihana started out as a tiny four-table restaurant in New York City's theater district before becoming an international chain. Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion soup, shrimp appetizer, iceberg lettuce drizzled with dressing, sauteed vegetables and green tea.

great food, good show, bad service. We went here for my husband's birthday. The wait staff was not very friendly... nothing horrible happened. It was just their general attitude and tone. I thought that lunch was going to be a bust but then the chef came out and he was great. He was very interactive with us and put on a good show. Everybody loved the food, although the portions were not as big as you normally get at a restaurant. It was still fun and I would recommend it especially for special occasions or celebrations.
