Fantastic Service!. I was returning a pair of shoes, and did not have the address to send them back. Not only did these nice folks look up the address, they prepared the mailing label, compared rates for different ways to ship it, and packed up the shoes. I was really impressed and would definitely recommend this place (as I have to all my friends).
Worst Experience EVER!. The owner is short-tempered and does not hold her business accountable for what her employees tell customers. I was forced to pay additional money for a package by the owner after two of her employees had told me different. Extremely rude owner. Check the BBB as there are complaints with no responses from this business! Don't trust what you are told by anyone at this business!
Don't ask to cancel a shipment.
Today, I shipped a large box for my sister to New York using The Postal Center at the above address. They told me that Fedex would be here real soon to pick it up.
After I left, I called my sister to let her know when the package should arrive at her family's home. When she found out that I did not go to the Post Office, she asked that I go back and get a refund. She believed that it would be cheaper than $99.00 to ship this package through the US Mail.
So, I turned around and went back to the store. I went inside and was told that they could not cancel the shipment and could not give me a refund. My box was still sitting on the floor behind the counter.
The lady told me that Fedex had already charged her and so there for she could not give me a refund.
I told her that I don't understand. The box is still here. Can't you just cancel the shipment ? She told me no. That Fedex had already charged her for the shipment and she could not refund my money. She said that she could give me the box back but not a my money.
I left and then I went back. Now, the package is gone from behind the counter. The girl that had helped me before was gone. Her mother helped me this time.
She tried to explain that they save all of their shipping entries until just before 3pm and send them all in to Fedex at the same time. Once that happens, there is no way to reverse a shipment.
I asked if we could call Fedex and have them explain this to me. I wanted to see if they would say the same thing
She told me I could call Fedex anytime I want. I asked, don't you have a number that you call from here?
She wrote down 1800-GO-Fedex. I started imputting the number in my cell to call, when she said, "if you are calling to complain about me, please make your call from outside. I asked can I atleast finish putting in the phone number? She said, no. You need to go outside.
I told her that up to that point, I was not mad at her, but now I was. I asked her name? She told me, " none of my business.".
I stepped outside to make the call, I heard her lock the door behind me.
I called Fedex. The Customer Service Rep, Ed, told me, they cancel shipments all of the time. Customers are always changing their mind. He did not know why she said that to me. He explained all she had to do was to go in and cancel the shipment.
He looked up the tracking number. At that time, the package had not been scanned into the system yet. He said that meant that the driver had not picked up yet.
While I was on the phone, the Sugar Land Police Department showed up. I was glad they were there actually. I told them what had taken place.
After talking to Ms. "none of you business", they explained that this womans daughter had picked up the package and was taking it to another location to mail. There was no way to get the package back.
Okay, I agree, I should have gone to the place I needed to go to in the first place. However, I was blown away by the fact that these people lied to me, 1) saying they could not cancel the shipment, when Fedex told me they do it all of the time. 2) She lied when she said that Fedex had already picked it up, when infact, Fedex did not show that it had been scanned in yet by their driver.
3) Then, this is not an apparent lie, but the daughter, after above lies, went to another location and dropped it off, so that there was no way for me to get it back.
4) When I asked to speak to Fedex, she told me to leave the store to make the call. Then she locked the door and called the police.
And by the way, I realize too, that I must have looked very scary to this woman. I am 51, short and fat and was wearing my security officer uniform.
Lesson learned, Go to the Post Office. Service may be slower, but atleast they have a stricter code of ethics to abide by than this place.
