Cafe Adobe Sugarland - Emetrol. I went to Café Adobe in Sugarland on March 24, 2011 with my wife and kids. I live in Houston and I have visited the Café Adobe on Westheimer many times. My wife and I ordered the same meal: (1) a seafood enchilada, (2) a beef taco, and (3) 2 shrimp bravo.

The meals came out promptly and my wife immediately said the enchiladas was bland and the shrimp inside look small. I commented that the shrimp looked like the miniature shrimp you find in the freezer at a grocery. We ate the other items, picked over the shrimp enchiladas and took the remainder home. As we left she commented that the meal was a waste of money (I agreed because I paid for it).

Growing up in the 60’s I have developed certain habits and throwing away food is frowned upon. The next night I reheated the shrimp enchiladas in the oven and immediately I was reminded as to why it was “leftover’s” After not completing the food I threw it in the garbage.

Throughout the night my stomach became queasy and I felt funny. Fast forward to the morning: Intense diarrhea; headache, nausea, and a pesticide taste that will not go away.

Now I am sipping Sprite, chewing Tylenol, and chugging Emetrol.

Thanks for the memories Café Adobe in Sugarland because I will not be coming back.

let me know if you find better........ If you wonder what the pearly gates will be like.....sip one of their margaritas by the water on the deck in the mid summer with a breeze running through just watching the ducks....

Then the chimichangas and adobe specials are the best Mexican food I've had in Houston. Pappacitas, Gringos, and Lupe Tortilla need to step it up.

Best Gold Margaritas & beef fajitas. Cafe Adobe's in Sugar Land has the best Gold frozen Margaritas and their beef taco al carbon combo is the best! I also always order the guacamole for an appetizer. The frijoles a la charra are really good to sub instead of the refried beans.

The outdoor patio is nice when the weather permits with all the large trees and the kiddos can go feed the ducks by the water below. I highly recommend this restaurant.

BEST TEX-MEX CUISINE IN HOUSTON - BAR NONE. My wife and I ate at Cafe Adobe in Sugar Land.

They seated us promptly when we walked in. An employee arrived within less than one minute to serve us hot, fresh, and delicious tortilla chips and two kinds of yummy salsa!

The waitress showed up a few minutes later after we had looked at the menu. She was really genuinely friendly and courteous. We ordered fajitas. About 10 minutes later (I'm not kidding) the most scrumptious fajitas with all the trimmings arrived seriously steaming off the plate!!! Excellent quality fajitas.

Cafe Adobe is:

NOT stingy with the guacamole like Pappacitos.

NO cheap and nasty "guacamole extender" like La Escondida.

Exceedingly comfortable atmosphere combined with world class food and service.

We'll be back. Good job Cafe Adobe!!!

Editorial Review. Tex-Mex specialties accompanied by award-winning margaritas are served up to casual diners in the cafe's warmly adorned Spanish dining room and tropical patio.

When the waitstaff has no clue. as to what they are doing trouble will soon follow. During a recent stop the waitstaff could not explain the menu, drinks available. or pricing. Order came after a great length of time and the entire table noticed a smell. The food was spoiled. When the waiter came back we asked him to smell the plate and he was like why...We said the food was spoiled and after he smelled the plate he agreed. Slow service, terrible food, higher prices, and the fact that management had no interest in our complaints CROSS this place off the list of future visits.

Great margaritas and Tex mex. We love this place! They advertise the margaritas and they really are the best in town. They are strong but do not taste like they are strong. The food is to die for! We go several times per month for dinner and I eat lunch there twice a week. Recently they brought in new items and a new menu. The new fajita price beats everbody else. My husband thinks it is the best tex mex around. Great place for large parties.

It's Worth It. I have been going to Cafe Adobe for years. The beef fajitas and queso are the best in town. The prices are kinda high, but my friends and I love the atmosphere. The service is hit or miss. Either it's a newbie who isn't very good or a veteran who rocks. It's a chance you take anywhere you go in Houston. I say the ritas are worth the trip! Go Now!

not a happy ending. First of all when you have a large PARTY, check with management to have the best waiter or waitress. My wife and I was there to celebrate our Anniversary, we invited 20 friends, the waiter was new and his fellow coworker was not helping, we had to go to the bar to drinks, it took forever to order and then, he could not remember who ordered What!,so tickets wasn't separated properly. We was the last to leave and he realize his mistakes, so he wanted us to pay for difference. WE DIDN'T, but we was very upset, plus we both have 8 years of restaurant management, service was very POOR. I wasn't happy with our entree and margaritas was so so, I could do better and the bartender didnot know how to make a lot of simple drinks.

What a joke!!!. Absolutely the worst Mexican Food in Houston!!! The only thing this joint has going for it is the location and outdoor seating. Terrible value, weak serving, and a wait to suffer through it all. Dining room noise is a the level of the Southwest Freeway. I suggest something from the grill if you must. Strongest attribute is the patio, in nice weather it's worth putting up with the food.
