“We are so glad to have found this wonderful, family-friendly stable and highly recommend them for lessons or boarding.”
be aware. Don't give them a deposit when they request it to hold a stall. Even if you don't sign the contract and let them know within 24 hours that you won't be boarding there, they will keep the deposit.
Family Friendly Stable.
Both of my daughters take riding lessons at Sunrise Equstrian ? one for 3 years and the other for 1 year. We had been at 2 other stables previously and I was very frustrated with the unreliability of the instructors. I can?t tell you how many lesson times were ?forgotten!? This is not the case at Sunrise. The instructor is ALWAYS on time for lessons (or calls to reschedule) and conducts the lessons in a fun, safe, and encouraging manner. There are both indoor and outdoor arenas so we can ride in almost any weather.
One of the owners recently helped us find the perfect first horse for our family ? being sure to thoroughly test any prospects for riding and temperament suitability. Our horse is boarded at SEC and we love it! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and willing to go out of their way to help if you need it. The horses are on a dewormer schedule; there are weekly farrier visits and a terrific fly control program. This barn has virtually no flies! It?s amazing!
We are so glad to have found this wonderful, family-friendly stable and highly recommend them for lessons or boarding.
Great riding lessons!. My daughter has been taking English riding lessons at Sunrise since summer 2006. She loves it! And I love how the trainer/owner teaches. She is so patient and never raises her voice at the girls. She is very knowledgable and very encouraging. I've heard that some local stables pressure their students and are very hard on them when they don't perform well. At Sunrise, the goal is to learn good riding skills, not be berrated. If the girls/horse make a mistake, she gives them guidance and they repeat the ride until they are successful. My favorite thing about Sunrise is that the owners treat everyone as family. We've met some very nice families since we've been going there and created some good friendships. I expect we'll be at Sunrise for a long time!
great owners and my horse is so happy-. They have given us so much help and advice and have made our boarding experience wonderful-my horse is well fed and cared for- weve been there for years and I wouldnt board him anywhere else.
Great. When we relocated to Houston we boarded at a place that did not care for our animals. The place did not feed them but we were paying for it. In a matter of 2 months we lost one horse and the other lost a significant amount of weight. We found our horse caught in barbwire right before we moved him to Sunrise. A few days before we moved him, we found every gate open to the facility he was at. Horses were running all over the roads, in the barn, eating bags of grain, etc. The owners had no interest in even being on the property. It was horrible. We now know what bad boarding is. Our horse has gained back all the weight he lost and looks better than ever today. The place is clean and all the horses must be wormed and see the vet. The owners will do extra things for your horse at your request if you are traveling or do not have time to make it out to see the vet. I think it says a lot when you talk to boarders. You will find that almost everyone that boards their horses here have been at this place for years. This place offers peace of mind.
My horse is happy and so am I !!. I have boarded at Sunrise for 8 years and cannot say enough about not only the support they've given me (as a first time horse owner) but also the care my horses have received. My current horse became very ill (colic) in Sept. 2001 and the barn manager took him to the vet for me (I was working full time and didn't have a trailer). Upon returning to the barn that evening, both the manager and owner stayed with me and my horse in the indoor arena to observe him and walk him. When it became apparent he was getting worse, the barn manager trailered me and my horse to an equine vet 30 miles away at 2:00 am. He had emergency surgery and would have died had he not gotten to the vet when he did. This is just one example of the kind of support afforded to boarders. The barn is kept clean, the horses are out of their stalls, weather permitting, every day, and I never worry about my horse being stolen because the owner lives on the property. There is an indoor washrack, a central fly spray system, automatic waterers in the stalls, 2 arenas, good fresh gain and hay. The barn is family oriented with very nice people around. I also take lessons which, along with being instructional, are always fun. My daughter started lessons when she was 11 years old at Sunrise and continued them until she recently left for college. She loved going to the barn and there is no doubt in my mind that her experiences there will always be remembered as wonderful times.
Sunrise Equestrian Center is great. Nearly every lesson day I hear a parent say how happy they are to have found Sunrise Equestrian. Most of us have tried other equestrian centers for lessons and this one is the most family-friendly. We have met some really nice families, many who own and board their horses there. They seem to stay for a long time. They even have arrangements in place for the horses in the event of a hurricane evacuation. We are working on year five and plan on staying a long time.
Sunrise is beyond my expectations. Sunrise Equestrian Center has gone above and beyond my expectations for quality equine housing, care, and instruction. I began taking lessons at the Center about three years ago and ever since, the owners have done everything in their power to make sure I have had a great experience. From extra one on one sessions to personal attention to detail, the instructor always made sure that I was safe, comfortable, and well-educated. When it came time for me to buy my own horse, one of the owners surveyed countless potential horses over the span of several months until she was sure she found the perfect horse to own for me. Since then, my horse has been taken care of very well. He is fed, bathed, sent out to pasture to socialize, lunged, etc... on a daily basis. Even when I am out of town on business, the owners take care of my horse like it was their own. When my horse needed surgery, the owners personally transported my horse to and from the vet's office, which was for about an hour away from the stable. After the surgery, my horse needed medication three times a day. I work full time, and it was impossible for me to do so. The owner gave my horse his medicine for 10 days (absolutely free of charge). This type of personal care and attention to detail is why I put my trust in Sunrise Equestrian Center, and why I will continue to trust them for many years to come.
My horse and I have never been happier!. I have boarded my horse at Sunrise for over five years and could not be more pleased with the care he has received. My horse has never been happier. The barn provides top quality feed and hay and will accomodate requests for specialized feed, such as senior feed for my older horse. The sanitary conditions and automated fly spray system keep pests and parasites to a minimum. An excellent farrier comes every week, so keeping my horse on a regular shoeing schedule is no problem. The owners live on site so security isn't an issue. Best of all, the horses are turned out into large pastures all day (weather permitting) and brought in each evening. Being able to "socialize:" in this setting keeps behavior problems and nervous habits to a minimum. Safety for riders and proper treatment for horses are priorities. I have found the owners to be responsible, honest, accomodating and dedicated to providing a safe, healthy and fun environment in which to enjoy my horse.
BEWARE and STAY AWAY from Sunrise. Owners are crooks and bullies...you won't get what you pay for!. My horse has never looked worse! Owners nickel and dime you for everything. Document everything and have witnesses to support your position. Owners will threaten to lock up your horse or trailer if you try to leave...HORRIBLE facility, run down and falling apart! Will charge you for quality feed and shavings and not provide it and become irate when you bring it to their attention!
