The most rude and terrible service!!!!! This I believe has been ingrained from the Manager and is slowly trickling to the lower level employees. Upon dropping off my clothes the cashier explained that they would call to give me the total price of my items before proceeding with any work. This I found to be awfully strange; which dry cleaners don't know how much they charge to dry clean or iron garments??? Especially one that has been in business as long as this one has?? Mind you, my clothes weren't a wedding dress or a ball room gown. Just simple dresses (no rhinestones or extreme detailing), a work suit and a male pants. The cashier appeared to be totally clueless yet he promised the very next day I would be called because they weren't proceed without my approval. The day passed and I received no phone call, so my assumption was they never started working my clothes. When I called explaining this situation, the Manager was extremely hostile and supported the fact that they don't have to call. No apologies, no reasoning or trying to understand, just blatant rudeness on the part of the Manager. This is unacceptable for any service provider and as a customer I would not encourage or recommend their service to anyone.

Excellent Work but EXPENSIVE!!!.
I almost feel bad writing this review, but I wish someone had said something about the prices in their reviews. My loss is your gain!
So I just moved to the neighborhood and checked out the reviews for the best place to call my new dry cleaning home. A-1 had incredible reviews so I hauled a giant bag of dry cleaning over (that had built up during the move to Bellaire). I had sixteen pieces - nothing unusual - four pairs of pants, three blouses, a couple of jackets, a men's coat, a dress, three skirts, and two ties. I took the 25% off coupon I found online (thank god). Ronak was very pleasant and helpful.
When I went to pick up the dry cleaning, my bill was $74 - and that's with the 25% off! It would have been $100 for 16 items without it! I just paid and walked out in sticker shock. In the car I checked the receipt - $5 to clean a tie? $7 to clean a men's coat? $6 for a women's jacket? $9.50 to clean a dress? $4 each for the pants, blouses, and skirts? Jees! I just about passed out.
Now, when I got home and unpacked all the cleaning, I must say I was impressed. Everything was clean and ironed to perfection. They use nice hangers and even have real hangers for the skirts - not just safety pins. They had marked an old stain that never comes out. The work was meticulous. You get what you paid for. But, you see, that's the problem. I just wanted it to be good enough. I want $2 dry cleaning with crappy hangers and uneven creases.
So if you are looking for "just good enough" at a cheap price, then this is not the place to go. If you have quality clothes that need to be taken care of, then run, don't walk to A-1.

Although you were shocked by the price of their care for your apparel, I wonder what would your reaction be if you paid $2,00, and they messed up your cleaning? As a person who looks at dry cleaned apparel daily I am appauled, at the fees they charge, and the items have been pressed with STAINS, still on clothing, for shiiny pattern on fabric, because care not applied to fabric. For those of us who don't care about COUPONS, but good cleaners, Great to know A-1 Dry cleaners is in Bellaire.

RONNIE IS AMAZING!!!!. I live in Dallas but planned to have my wedding in Houston. When I began calling around I was ASTONISHED to hear prices like $100 and $150 dollars to steam and press my dress. I was told that because the dress was "big"and had hand beading that I would not find a better price. The price only went up when I told them that I could only drop off the dress the Thursday before the Saturday wedding! Ronnie not only had my dress ready Saturday morning, he did it for $25.00! He even offered me a great deal on my bride's maid dress AND any cleaning of them after the wedding! RONNIE TO THE RESCUE!

Great service, EXCELLENT results. When wearing a new white silk blouse for the first time, I spilled red wine all down the front of it. I was unable to get to the dry cleaners until five days later. A-1 turned a shirt with a nightmare of a stain into something that looked brand new. I was beyond impressed--I thought my blouse was unsalvageable. I would recommend them to ANYONE!

Awesome service. I've been a recent convert to A-1 after nightmarish experience with Pilgrim Cleaners. They ruined my practically new Ann Taylor's jacket in 2008 and still has not resolve the issue until today. Ronak was awesome with his service and quotes. My "white" cloth actually came out to be "white" and stains were always removed. He is SUPER polite and friendly. Ask for Ronak when you call. He is the go to person for A-1.

high quality dry cleaning. I just recently moved to Houston. I was very impressed with the care that was taken with my clothes. The staff was very friendly and customer service oriented.

Rude!. I called to get a price to dry clean my wedding dress. She would not give me a quote & eventhough I was polite in asking her, she hung up on me. I called back & she never answered. I then drove 20 minutes to the cleaners (trusting the City Search reviews more than her rudeness). When I arrived, she said the person to give me the quote had just left, but I could leave my dress. I told her I lived far & didn't want to do that; she was rude again. I'm now beginning to wonder if she typed the City Search positive reviews because I cannot imagine a store getting so many positive reviews when it's not worth going.
