The granddaddy of Houston gardening shops. One visit and it'll grow on you.. The Scene
While some may argue whether this is Houston's best nursery, it's certainly the oldest, having put down roots in 1910. Since then, this family-run, 10-acre site in Bellaire has grown into an elaborate enterprise where the customer base ranges from novice green thumbs to professional landscapers. The plant inventory is tremendous, and you can spend hours just strolling the grounds. (Indeed, guided tours are available for garden clubs.) It's just about impossible for a gardening buff to just dash in and right back out.

The Goods
Along with the immense selection of plants and gardening supplies, there's an on-site florist operation, a full-service landscaping business, and several lines of outdoor furniture available.
