Best Used Bookstore in Houston.
If you are looking for a rare or out of print book, I'd suggest you call Bookland and ask if they have it. Chances are they will have multiple copies to choose from.
Their selection of fantasy and science fiction is unparalleled by any other used book store I've been to, it has to be seen to be believed. From Burroughs to Heinlein, Clarke to Reynolds and every author in between. The mystery, horror, romance, history sections are very impressive too, although admidedly I spend most of my time in the sci-fi section.
The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and will go out of their way to be of assistance. I have no idea what the negative reviews are about...perhaps their experience with out of print or hard to find books is less than mine, and they were anticipating garage sale pricing. Good luck with that.
This is hands down my favorite brick and mortar bookstore, and will continue to go there for many years...when your kids save their allowence for a trip to a bookstore, you are going to the right place.

Will not shop here , got riped off !!!!. Very disappointed!!! When I took a price tag from a book the original price on it is $1.00 and I paid $2.00. It's unexpectedness and very very dishonest!!!!! Stuff was in general very rude too!!! Please check the books original price before you buy as you might be paying double instead of hail off !!! On the other hand there is a Half price Book store just few miles down and they are much more nice and prices are great. $1.00 a pice baught brand new children's books for my son. Very budget friendly

Great Used Bookstore!.
I thought Book Land was great. They have about 15,000 books on religion and Christian living topics. I found books by Tommy Nelson, John Piper and J.I. Packer among others. The main guy working there seemed to have an extensive knowledge of the books coming in and out of the book store so you can find out if they have anything specific you are looking for. While most books are used, this is good because it means they are half the normal price! In addition, everything is alphabetized and split into sections based on topic/genre.
