“Lunch at Mels is a big value, with a steam table where you pick one of 3 entree's, 2 sides, cornbread or roll and drink for 5 bucks even, after tax.”

“This little tiny resturant is in the middle of nowhere but is a great place.”
“Their prices are very reasonable and the service is great.”
“Good family place with reasonable prices!”
Best Home Style Food. Mel's is a wonderful place for home style food. It's always busy so check hours. Must try their Sample Platter. Chicken fried steak, fried fish...wonderful.
Mega mel. U should see this thing its huge they should put pictures of it on here I used to live in tomball and mels was always my first choice of places to eat yummm
NOT OPEN MONDAYS. THEY ARE NOT OPEN MONDAYS AS THIS WEBSITE SHOWS - verify they are open before going. The food is great - and worth the trip. Just not on Mondays.
Great Chicken Fried Steak....
This place is a country home town style of place. HOMEMADE FOOD. Yes, thats right. Homemade veg/meats/deserts...Daily/nightly specials. If you want a down home cooked meal, Mels cafe is your spot. No need to dress up or down. Come as you are. Best burgers, chicken fried steak and a California Chicken dish is to die for. They call it something else, but it is goooood.
Happy Eating.
Best Catfish EVER. You must try the fried catfish at Mel's. It is the best I have ever had. Even my father-in-law thinks it's the best - and believe me, he knows catfish! Great kids menu. Fabulous mountain of onion rings. Beer is cold and cheap. You'll love it.
A disappointing venture.. After reading the great reviews on this place, my family and I decided to dine. While the waitstaff was exceptionally friendly and the portions were huge, the food quality suffered. If you have a big, hungry family and little cash, this is your place. Otherwise beware.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Restaurant serves hamburgers and steak platters in huge portions at affordable prices and a kid's menu is offered.
Inexpensive country cafe. I have eaten at Mels many times. The food is country and inexpensive. Friendly waitstaff and child friendly. Would recommend it to anyone looking for very casual dining.
Best food- TOO cheap Prices. Best place to get a home cooked meal at 1980 prices. Best value.
Burgers and more.
Mel's has the best burgers around. Great beef, preparation and prices. The homemade fried mushrooms are to die for. Fries, tots and onion rings are also great.
Lunch at Mels is a big value, with a steam table where you pick one of 3 entree's, 2 sides, cornbread or roll and drink for 5 bucks even, after tax. The menu changes every day with each day having it's one item that is always served that day, chicken fried steak on thursday and chicken fried chicken on wednesday. (Both great)
Dress down for Mel's and expect a wait at almost any time. And expect to leave "Mel'ed"
