Very disappointed. The person I was with is on a special diet and cannot eat fries. They charged him 3.00 for a little bowl of green beans. I ate my hamburger because I was hungry. Go to Whataburger instead. Bun was burnt. and burger overcooked. They need to dump their no substitutions rule on the specials- we won't be going back.

Disappointing!!. Very disappointing! The staff was rude and improperly dressed for a family restaurant. The food cold, highly priced. Never will go there again!!

An actual true Steak House!!!. I completely agree with your comment houstonfoodie!! I have taken my family here for years for many reasons! Number one their food is amazing! its just good southern comfort food. Number two its a great family environment, I wouldn't have brought my kids here for so long if it wasn't. Number 3 the service is great I've never had a problem with any server they are all friendly and respectful, and wear professional attire. Its a great place to go for a nice dinner yet relaxed environment. It smokes all the big chain steak houses if you want to go to a real steak house i recommend Hofbrau!

GREAT Hill Country Cooking!. I read the reviews from 2 unhappy customers and I'm not sure what restaurant the 2 reviewers were talking about but they must not be talking about Hofbrau Steaks in Porter, Tx. i eat there often and it's VERY clean. It's a family owned and operated business. The staff wears jeans and company shirts and they are super friendly. The food is excellent - the chicken fried steak is awesome! The steaks are large and flavorful and prices are reasonable. It's THE place to go for great hill country cooking in this area! I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

NOT family friendly!!. This is NOT a family friendly restaurant. My wife and I came in last weekend for a nice meal (we thought) and the food was barely passable. My main complaint was with the waitresses. The women were dressed like street walkers and acted worst!. Needless to say we will not be back and will advise our friends.

Hofbrau is AMAZING!!!. I LOVE HOFBRAU!!! me and my husband have been coming here for years and i personally know the manager he has always been so friendly and kind to us as for the person below who said that the managment was bad obviously doesnt really know him, the girl who was a server must of done something wrong for him to of fired her he just wouldnt do that for no reason!!! Anyways great food, and great staff especially manager! oh and we usually come in on sundays and there is always cute young very friendly smiling hostess to greet us! we love Hofbrau!!!

Would recommend it!. My wife and I had dinner there a few weeks ago (before the storm!). I really like the waitstaff, they are friendly without hovering over your table. Food was great - I had a filet and my wife had the smothered chicken. They actually cooked my steak exactly how I ordered it. It seems like a real family oriented place. I would recommend it to a friend.

Poor management!. My daughter and I had dinner at Hofbrau's last night. The food was really good and the service was equally as good. Our waitress was real sweet, but we noticed that she seemed to be having some problems and she was crying. She confided that she was not feeling well and she was afraid that she was going to get in trouble. During the meal, she was called to the manager's office and FIRED! We could not believe it and asked to speak to the manager on her behalf. The manager was abrupt and rude and said that they had previous complaints, which I find hard to believe. As a result of the damper on the evening, which happened to be a birthday dinner, I will probably not visit Hofbrau's again. The bad taste left in my mouth was not from the food, but the management!

Big portions - fun atmosphere!. This restaurant has greatly improved in the last few years. I ordered the chicken fried steak - it's huge! My wife had the ribeye (chargrilled) and it was a good quality steak. The kids enjoyed hamburgers and fries. The atmosphere is casual and fun. Cheers to the staff for great service! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Prices are reasonable. We had a nice evening.
