Cold Food-Cold Service.
The Hot Biscuit…NOT! All the food on the buffet is cold! On Sunday, November 15, 2009 was one of the worst experiences that my spouse and I have ever had at a restaurant. We drove 20 miles out of our way with a coupon to try this restaurant, which is located in Porter Texas, off of Highway 59 North.
First, beware of the fine print on the coupons from the Hot Biscuit, the coupon was buy one buffet and get the second buffet at half price, all in large print. However, in fine print, an additional purchase of two beverages was needed.
The waitress took our order for two buffets, one beverage, one water and the coupon; however, she did not mention we needed to purchase two beverages for the coupon to be valid. The waitress placed the check immediately on our table after we placed our order, without even coming back to see if we wanted any drink refills, in which, there was never any refills.
After eating a half plate of cold food from the buffet, we got up to pay a very rude man working the cash register. We told this rude man about our situation; he said sorry and that was it, then he proceeded to tell us we had to purchase two beverages to use the coupon. My spouse told him to we will purchase an additional beverage so we can received the discount. Additionally, in front of my spouse and I, the rude man said to the waitress “Sweetie, please get a diet Pepsi for me”.
Management or the owner needs to focus more on him than the fine print on the coupon. The bottom line…I would not recommend the Hot Biscuit in Porter Texas, go to the 7-11 for an over cook hotdog!
so sad, I miss the 'old' Hot Biscuit. all i can say is yuck! This place USED to have some really good food back in the early 80's but they have gotten so bad, . The only thing that still tastes good is the coffee. Don't order the chicken fajita salad, gross! Chicken tasted like leftover that had been nuked too long, rubbery and hard.
