You get what you pay for. I am no longer going to Sherry's. I have been at least 8x over the past 3 years... always for a trim and highlights, and every single time my hair has been yanked at and pulled out, LITERALLY. Sure the prices are great, and that was initially why I kept going back... but the damage to my hair is not worth it!

Although I can't speak for all of the stylists there, I cringe when a certain stylist washes my hair. She scrapes her fingernails ever so hard against my scalp and then literally rips her fingers from root to end. When I say rip, I mean she yanks her fingers through the tangles. Rather than working her fingers gently through the tangle with conditioner, she rips through, breaking the hair.

When she combs my hair out after the wash, she does the same... ripping the comb through from root to end. Everyone knows that this is SO BAD for your hair no matter who you are. This is HAIR 101. How could she not know this? She should spray in a conditioner and GENTLY work the ends out first... then go back to the roots and gently comb through. Instead, she yanks and rips through the tangles root to end. I was devestated to see so many healthy strands of hair ripped out of my scalp and onto the floor!

After my last visit, I'm done. I've decided that I would rather pay more money to maintain healthy hair and have a good experience.

I was so mad about the damage caused to my hair after I left, but I am not assertive enough to confront her about my disappointment. I need to work on that obviously! My friend went to see the same lady there once and had the exact same experience. She never went back.

Are the highlights good? Sure. Does the trim come out good? Sometimes. Is she good with other color? I don't know. But I'm not willing to find out.

Again, not all the hair stylists there are like her, so you may have better luck with someone else. I just don't feel right revealing & smearing her name.
