If you are looking for a doctor for medication management, Dr. Sunkureddi is a great choice. He is very knowledgable regarding psychiatric medications and is very willing to work with you to find the right combination for your specific condition. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a doctor who is also going to provide therapy/counseling at the same visit, he is not the doctor for you. If you need that kind of treatment, he will suggest a psychologist for you to work with in conjunction with him. The staff is also very helpful when you call and/or ask questions. They seem to know you your name when you call (although, as you would expect, they will need to look at your chart to know your specific condition/history). I have never had them fail to return a call on the rare occasion I have to leave a message and they are always prompt if I need them to do something like call and talk to my insurance or pharmacy.
Pros: Medication Management, Staff, wait time for appt
Cons: Therapy/Counseling, after hours response

After ten years of being hospitalized every 4-6 months with the mood swings of a Bipolar I rapid cycler, I came to Dr. Sunkureddi. I had six psychiatrists who could not manage my medicine in 10 years and he was able to do it. In a short time, he found a combination of different medications, which have had to be changed frequently as moods change. But the result has been stability and I have learned about my disorder, how to adjust my medication, and how to manage my life and medication. I have not been hospitalized in six years. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and resourceful. He is also very personable and easy to talk to. You would be lucky to have such a fine physician.
Pros: Best psychiatrist I have had.
