unbelievably BAD service

Houston Shoe Hospital ruined my wedding shoes. They were barely salvageable after their second try. HSH claims to do professional shoe dyeing. My rather expensive white shoes, instead of being dyed a simple red to match the swatch, had red paint (wrong shade) slapped on them EXCEPT on the five white finger-shaped circles where the worker was holding the shoe. The other shoe had finger smudges in dirty black because someone didn't wash the black shoe polish off of their hands before handling a pair of white satin wedding shoes. The manager said that HSH worked on 10,000 (!) pairs of shoes every day and if a few got ruined, that was just too bad. He thought the black and white splotches were "no big deal" and told me the shoes were just fine and I should take them like they were. Needless to say, I did not pay for the dye job and have never been back. That was the most incompetent and rudest service I have ever received at any business anywhere, and I cannot recommend strongly enough that customers go somewhere else. If it were possible to give less than one star, they'd get a negative number.

I wanted to let you know that I received my shoes today via FedEx. Both pairs look beautiful; you did exactly what you said, which was repair my shoes properly. That is all I wanted, and the shoes now look like what I'd originally expected. I also like the new soles you added. I tried on the shoes and my favourite pair (the two-tone pump) is just a bit tighter; I am assuming it is just the cleaning solution and the leather will stretch. Overall, the shoes look just perfect. Thanks again for following up with my complaint, I do appreciate it.

Shoes like new!

I've taken several of my expensive high-heels and boots to Houston Shoe Hospital and they've always done a good job. The shoes will never be "like-new" again but they come back looking pretty dang close. I recently had a pair of work heels re-soled and they fixed the heel that was practically non-existent due to wear and tear. The work is done well and timely. I would recommend them to anyone looking to save a favorite pair of heels.
