Highlight, Cut, and Style. Terri is amazing! She has worked her magic on my long, curly hair twice now. This time we did highlights and I walked out of there with such swagger. The best part is that I was able to recreate the style on my own at home in even less time. I am pretty picky about stylists and she is the only one I've returned to since moving to Houston 2.5 years ago. The ability to make appointments online is a total bonus. If you have curly hair that tends to get heavy as it grows out, request Terri! You won't be disappointed.

haircut. Last week was my second visit to this salon. I have to say this place has a lot of character and some highly experienced hair artists. My first appointment was with Megan in December... i have to say she is one of the sweetest person I have ever met. I liked her instantly. She shampooed my hair, gave me a hair trim and some advice on how long it would take for my short layers to grow out. She offered a free trim/bang in betweeen the 3 month period she told me was needed for my layers to grow out.

I never availed her offer. End of February I was completely fedup of my long hair and they felt really heavy and difficult to blow dry. I tried to make an appointment with Megan but our schedules did not match, so my other option was Ashley. Now Ashley gave me what i call almost a make over. She cut my hair in layers and even though they're still long (below my shoulders) she made them look volumized at the top of my head and thinner at the bottom... this is perfect for styling and blow drying has become really easy. I have to say while she was cutting my hair I was really nervous because I felt like she was cutting off a lot and I felt I would not be able to style it at home. But i have to say its a wonderful haircut, makes me look much younger and glamorous.

The only negative is that this salon is expensive. My first trip was $50 plus tips, and the second trip costed me $65 plus tips. I think i can only afford this every 3 months...

Great Salon. I recently had an appointment with Teri and love my hair! She was able to make my curly frizzy hair manageable. Great layers and a new technique so I don't have to pull out my hair dryer- awesome!

Non-pretentious & Badass: My Dream Salon. I've lived in Montrose for over a year now and drive by cutLoose all the time... but yesterday was my first time ever sepping foot inside.

I'll admit I brushed the salon off thinking it was going to be full of pretentious hipsters who think they are hair gods, and thank god I was wrong.

I thought about going to Blue Mambo but the receptionist was very rude to me after I told her the price of $75 for a haircut was a little too expensive.

Then I had a flash and remembered cutLoose. I checked out their website and was super stoked when I saw that you can book your appointment online!!! You can pick out what day and they show you all the openings they have. Or you can pick which stylist you want. Just set up your appointment and show up to the salon. They even send you helpful email reminders that your appointment is coming up.

I chose Amanda Z. to do my hair and I'm so glad!

She was so sweet and made legit conversation the whole time. Not just weird polite filler stuff. She asked me what I had in mind and made my vision come to life, and it looked good on my face! This is seriously the first time I have ever walked out of a salon feeling 1000% happy with my new hair. WOW. It looks great; so much body and I have super fine hair.

The other staff members were all friendly and joking with eachother. And all the other clients there looked very happy and pleased as well.

Please check them out!

Unless you're not a fan of trendy hipsters. Oh yeah, and you wont get judged as soon as you walk in *cough* unlike toni & guy *cough*.

Edgy, fashion forward, and hawt. Oh and definitely worth the price!!! ($65 for a women's cut and style)

Chad Is Worth Every Penny. I have been going here for over a year now after my long search of finding the right place. After my regular stylist moved, I went all over Houston trying to find an even DECENT place. I'm a guy and i thought it wouldn't be too difficult to find a new person to cut short hair...I was seriously wrong.

I ended up at Cutloose and chose Chad from all the recommendations. He isn't cheap, but damn is he good. You really do get what you pay for and even more at this place. You also do get a complimentary trim which I suggest you take advantage of that.

The staff of stylist aren't people with a some experience and cut hair, they continually learn more about their craft. The stylist go to training seminars all over the US frequently.

Don't be afraid to bring in a picture, it really does help them out in knowing what you want specifically. Chad is always there for recommendations on how it would look for your shape. For some reason, the haircuts from here tend to keep a lot longer than other places. Chad also likes using his razor and scissors over any electric tool. The only electric thing he uses is this little trimmer. He is very proud in what he does and shows it. It says "30minute" haircut, but Chad really does take however long he needs to on someone's hair and I respect that. I don't gripe if I have to wait 15 minutes, because I would expect Chad to take his time with me as well.

I'm sure all of the stylist at Cutloose are great, I just like to stick with Chad since he saved me from my bushwhacked hair. The best of luck to anyone who tries anywhere else, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Parking is a beeotch, but its Montrose area. Hit Brasils aafterwards and chillax :P

Great Style + Great Stylists. I love going into Cutloose! This place packs plenty of fun, energetic stylists that know what they're doing. I go to Traci and she always does a great job on my color and cuts. I'm probably like a lot of other people, very picky! But Traci always listens to what I want and makes suggestions on what would work and look best. Listen to your stylist! Chad has also styled my hair for some photoshoots and I always love the cutting edge updos he creates. The staff regularly educates themselves on new styles so I always feel comfortable in their hands. The Bumble and bumble products are so great - with tons of products to purchase as well. You will not be disappointed!

I've been a Cutloose devotee for over 20 years!. I've never been disappointed with my haircut or color, whether I brought an idea to Carol, or she or Michelle made a suggestion for a look I might want to try. I will patronize this salon for the next 20 years.

Most fun haircut I ever had!. Loved the whole experience! not stuffy atmosphere. They know what they are doing. While I sat there waiting, I listened to the Manager make plans for the next class some of the stylist are attending in New York. I gotta say, I was impressed. I'm going back for color!

The staff at the front desk is always helpful and they do email confirmations which is super easy for me!!! In short, Ashley is awesome so book an appointment with her!!

Amazing haircut. I love the background music, the atmosphere, all the employees and the way they get along with each other (they're really like a family). And, most importantly, the stylists are the best in the city. Stephanie just gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten. You should try them out.
