Nice store, great selection..
I went there yesterday for the first time as someone who is newly into comics, they had a lot to choose from! The store was neat and organized well. I was able to find what I was looking for quite easily. I found the prices reasonable, but I don't know much about how much they should be worth/priced at.
The employees were polite and helpful. They didn't seem to hound you like some stores, they let you look around in peace but if you ask for help they are very helpful.
The parking wasn't too great, but it wasn't bad either.
I would recommend this store, and I will definitely be going back.
Great Selection!.
There are many comic book stores scattered throughout Houston. Stores that come to mind include Nan's Games & Comics, Midnight Comics, Bedrock City Comics, and Third Planet. Each Houston-based store has its fair share of positives and negatives. For one, even though Nan's Games & Comics has the biggest selection of board games, it has the highest prices. And although Midnight Comics opens until midnight six days a week, it has the weakest selection of items. And even though Bedrock City Comics doesn't have that large of a selection, it is the cleanest and most organized.
However, unlike some of the worse shops (Nan's and Midnight), Bedrock City Comics' positives outweigh its negatives. For one, the store has the largest selection of collectibles and memorabilia out of any Houston-based comic book shop. The store sells the largest variety of merchandise out of any comic book shop in Houston (nothing even remotely compares to their Star Wars collection). However, the store does not come without its negatives. For one, the store looks very rundown from the outside (not to mention the inside!). Additionally, the store is very unorganized and cluttered. In other words, everything is everywhere. There is no sense of organization apparent in the shop. However, the fact that the store is so large makes up for this.
So in conclusion, if you are looking for something in particular, Third Planet is your best bet due to its large selection!
Best Comic-Book Store in Town!. Third Planet is by far the the coolest place for your comic, action figure and gaming needs. This place is HUGE! They have everything! The staff is also incredibly helpful and polite. Not to mention the guy with the long hair is hot! Seriously though, check out Third Planet. You won't be dissapointed.
Awesome Place. I've been a subscriber here for about a year now. And the service I get is second to none. I order kind of off the wall, oddball kind of stuff and they have no problem getting ahold ot it for me where as other stores sometimes don't even bother. The guys who work there are pretty cool and always fun to chat with. I don't think I'll ever buy anywhere else so long as I live in Houston.
Best place to get your geek on. I've been a long time subscriber {meaning every Wed. when the new comics come in they will pull all the comics I'm interested in and have them ready for me in my box, very easy breazy for people on the go} and I've always been greeted by name, and treated like one of the family. The employees{including the owner} are very friendly, quick with a joke and always willing to recommend something new. They stay on top of whats hot from comics to toys and gaming {if you're into that stuff they even hold gaming on most Sunday afternoons} They also offer "want list" serivce meaning when I was looking for issue #2 of Planetary they had all my info to call me when an issue came into stock from a collection that was purchased. I know there are other "comic book" stores in town but why go to them when you can come to the best at Third Planet. Treat your customers right and they will keep coming back for more like me.
Best of the best.
I've been a subscriber at Third Planet for around nine years. Every week without fail I go in, grab my books, and leave satisfied. If there is an item I want, the owner makes it a personal agenda to find it for me and get it to me with all appropriate haste.
I'd bounced from store to store before finding Third Planet, and before I found it I didn't much think of customer loyalty to a comic store. I mean, why bother? I've known a few shops to open up and close down within the span of four months time, but Third Planet's been around for over three decades. Tell me they aren't doing something right when they've not only outshined the competition but outlived it as well.
It's nice to know that if I need something, they can get it for me, and with pleasure too, because they seem to realize that customers keep their business alive, and I think they'll be around for a long, LONG, time.
Comics and Collectibles.
Third Planet is a pretty big store, and they have a ton of stuff filling the place up. Loads of stuff nobody has even heard about sometimes. Some of the stuff can get a little pricy, but considering that they are the ONLY store in the city that can get some of these hard to find items, it's a small price to pay.
The staff is always helpful, and I've never left the store unsatisfied. A little disappointed that I allow myself to spend so much in one place every time I go, but otherwise all the better. A fine store indeed.
Best selection of comics in town...peroid.
Third Planet has always been my one-stop shop for comics and collectibles that the other local dealers were for one reason or another, be it a complete lack of professionalism or a surprising surplus of apathy toward the customer, unable to find for me.
High-end older issues, specific action figures, trades, graphics, whatever. Whenever I needed it, they either had it or imediately worked to get it for me. I believe that's called service, something that the few other comic shops I have had the displeasure of frequenting seem to have no grasp of.
The employees there have always been friendly, helpful, and seem to really enjoy their work whereas alot of the desk jockeys at other shops are content to let the customer fend for himself.
Seriously, if you need something for your collection, make Third Planet your first stop. You won't be disappointed.
Best collectors shop in houston period!. I was greeted by a smiling person unlike some other shops. They helped me find the Clone Trooper battle pack I have been looking everywhere for. It cost a little money but I wasted five times the amount in gas looking for it all over Houston. They are very upscale and even helped me carry all the stuff I bought to my car. If I had to use one word to describe it it would be classy. I can imagine a family shopping there for gifts just as easy as a goth or hard core comic fan. Their selection also seems to cater to everyone.
Everything I was looking for and more. I found Third Planet to be a highly friendly place. I was greeted as I entered the door (which never happens anymore most places) The staff was highly knowledgable in finding what I was looking for. To be honest they have a fantastic selection of new and very old collectable items that were around when I was a kid, which I felt like, wandering around their store. The prices were fair and in some cases lower than I was expecting on some items. All in all a very good experience and I will definately be a repeat customer
