Tips for Lewis & Maese Antiques

May 07, 2013

Lewis and Maese had trouble paying their consignors back in 2009. Perhaps, they are doing better now. I certainly would not consign my valuables for them to auction.

They are RIP-OFF ARTISTS and LIARS. Lewis and Maese are RIP-OFF artists. DO NOT SELL THERE !!!!!!

I have seen them rip people off over and over and yes, I expected a $6000 chest to sell well. I only got $400 and a bunch of their lies about it's imperfection and it was a re-worked antique....using old wood to make it look antique. That piece had been in the family for generations so I nearly had a heart attack when I got the check.

They not only lie consistantly, creatively and constantly, they do nickel and dime you to death...and walk off making more $$ off their trusting, unassuming clients - and they laugh all the way to the bank.

DO NOT SELL HERE!. We auctioned off several things here and they all sold. Great right? So you would think. We sold 800.00 or so worth of merchandise. I received a check for 87.00! Why? They nickled and dimed me to death! I knew they took 50% so I was expecting at least that. They then threw in photo fees, reserve fees, listing fees and all these other fees they made up. Do not sell here! It's not worth it! Buying here is okay when they have decent stuff starting at decent prices.

A trove of thoughtfully selected, well-priced items makes this musty Montrose shop a browser's delight.. The Scene
Scouting at this musty, dusty and cramped warehouse takes more work, but it can be worth it.

The Goods

Outfit yourself for a decadent lifestyle at less-than-decadent prices. Snap up a satin chaise lounge or a red-velvet sectional sofa at a price that beats the mass-produced fare elsewhere. In addition to furniture, you'll find lots of accessories for the antiques-friendly home. Chandeliers, candlesticks, and silver-plate serving pieces are in ready supply, in addition to chairs and tables, large and small. The diverse selection of well-priced items means a quick turnover of inventory, ensuring that frequent browsing will be rewarded with new discoveries.
