In Short – It can still get overrun on weekends at this affable Shepherd Plaza watering hole, when the on-the-go, 20-something crowd gets elbow-to-elbow inside and spills over to the "beer garden" patio in the back. At its heart, however, McElroy's is a proper upscale pub, with dark wood trim, deep-green walls and striking, red leather banquettes recycled from the historic Rice Hotel.
I think it is a good place for a few beers

I like I-Pubs and found this one here looking for some in the River O' area. The beer is cold, their Newcastle is flowing constantly. The staff is nice and the place is good size. The air is smoky but what pub is not smoky? (FYI: Boston pubs are smoke free enviroments). They don't have a kitchen so eat before you get there. :)
- Pros: Good Service, Cold Beer
- Cons: Parking's hard 2 find

Nothing compares to McElroy's. It has everything you need to fill your Irish pub needs: great Guiness, wonderful staff, and comfortable atmosphere. Whenever I want these things, McElroy's is the only place I go.
- Pros: Staff, Beer Selection, Ambience
Cold beer...good friends

Great place to gather with friends after a day of golf to discuss the days feats. Guiness is always good and the Shiner Boch is fresh. Staff is always friendly and willing to offer an opinion. Definately is work a look. The beer garden in the back is an added treat.
