Great Food for great price!. I've been to this place at least three times now and I still think this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Houston. Not only the food is excellent, but the price is very reasonable especially for dinner! It has a wide variety of menu and the prices are just unbelievable. It's so worth coming for dinner! My favorite is the sizzling rice soup! You've gotta try this if you've already had wonton or hot and sour soup. I'd also recommend their dumplings (pan fried), cilantro pepper shirimp, and the combo specials which is served all day. If you come in before 4pm, you can eat them for the price of lunch menu! The service is excellent and the restaurant is clean and neat! I'd highly recommend this to anybody that wants inexpensive fresh chinese food! Good for take out and free delivery!
Count on chef-owner Joe Wong for fresh-made Chinese cuisine..
In Short
In addition to Szechuan, Hunan and Cantonese classics, the Eurasian (East meets West) menu items offer modern flavors. Appetizers include salmon rolls with white wine plum sauce; firecracker fish wraps; and lemongrass chicken summer rolls. Wong gets inventive with chicken entrees like Genghis Khan beef, garlic chicken and savory beef Szechuan. Take-out is reliable and quick, but why not stick around? The dining room is tidy and elegant with a fish aquarium and handsome artwork.
Favorite Chinese Restrauant in Houston.. It's a great location, close to River Oaks. Yet seems to be undiscovered. The menu is huge and the food is very fresh (no wilted veggies here) which for a restrauant this size means dishes can not overly prepared. The menu is priced so you can dine daily. Many of the lunch crowd seem to be regulars. The wait staff is very attentive and always seems intuitive. I've had delivery 5 times, the drivers are always very nice and the food packaged so it stays hot.
Homemade Chinese.
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Houston. I love love love the Mango Chicken. My husband loves the pork with snow peas. What we really like best about it is that everything is fresh and seems to be made from scratch. Unlike some Chinese places that taste like they are serving leftovers or pre-packaged stuff drenched in soy sauce. These dishes have real ingredients and not too much monosodium glutamate.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Nothing to special, but always good..
This is one of those consistent Chinese places that you can go to for the rest of your life and always get exactly what you want. They have exceptional service and a wonderfully designed interior. Haven't tried the take-out yet, but I would imagine it would taste the same.
Pass up Gen Joe's and head over here next time you want Chinese.
