What People Are Saying About Fifty Nine Diner

In Short – The retro diner theme is everywhere; from the chrome and Formica tables to the "soda jerk" uniforms. Late-night crowds of varying ages pack the room, seeking good ol' comfort cuisine. The popular standard is the juicy chicken tenders. Chili-cheese fries are made with real grated cheese, not cheese sauce. The hamburgers are excellent, even better when accompanied by an old-fashioned malt. Thicker than wet cement, the huge desserts (served in a parfait glass with the remainder in a container) are best when shared.
Great Family Restaurant
by thatmanfromtexas
When I find a restaurant for dinner that my 11 year old, his friends and I can all agree on, life doesn't get much better than that for a parent. A wide variety of high quality food, low prices, excellent service, and wonderful ambience make the 59 Diner @Sheperd a great family friendly restaurant. Did I mention it was family friendly....
- Pros: High quality food, excellent service, family friendly

Plentiful portions and sides. One of the best chocolate malts in town, although the price is getting steep. Kid's love this place!

The 59 Diner on Shepherd at Kirby has just about everything you might want to eat from Chef's Salads to Hamburgers and more. It is a great place to eat with a huge menu and a lot of that 50's ambiance. Go there every time I am in that area.
- Pros: inexpensive
- Cons: Limited parking
