In Short – No cuisine tantalizes more with the interplay of sweet and salty, crisp and smooth, hot and mild than Thai. For simply living up to those traditions, Teal Anomaiprasert's Thai Pepper is worth trying. Among the menu's winners: Handsomely presented appetizer plates, milky chicken soup that plays off the yin-yang of hot and sour and pad thai with its glass noodles and bits of egg, shrimp and bean curd.
You can't get Thai this good anywhere else!

I came to Thai Pepper a couple of years back with a boyfriend at the time, and since then it's been a constant in my life (the boyfriend I could do without-tehe). I promise you won't be able to find the same cheese rolls, drunken noodles, or homemade coconut ice cream anywhere else in Houston. Go there, and since I'm salivating as I type, I think I'm about to make another trip.
- Pros: Mouthwatering food and desserts, attentive waiters
A little disappointed
by chuebinger
My girlfriend and I really wanted thai that wasn't a chain so I researched here on Citysearch and picked Thai Pepper to try since all the reviews were so good. Both of us were a bit disappointed. My basil chicken sauce was very soupy. Her pad thai was pretty good but my husband wasn't impressed with the order I brought him home. We also asked the waiter to split our check and he told us he would do it only because he wasn't busy. I have never understood restaurants that don't do this when so many people go out to dinner as friends... especially in Houston! I probably won't be returning to this place.
- Pros: Good pad thai
- Cons: Parking
A true connoisseur gives THUMBS UP!
by KristinDenise1983
I am quite picky when it comes to restaurant fare because cooking is something I truly enjoy... But of course, I also love to go out to eat! Thai Pepper is one of my top choices, and certainly the best
Thai in this city without doubt. I was introduced by a friend and now I am addicted! I have been coming for several years, and I am still captivated by the artistic style of decorating you notice from the moment you step through the door. The food is amazing, the waiters and waitresses kind, and everything about this restaurant is true to Thai culture! That is what impresses me so very much because it is hard to find quality anymore in any restaurant. Anytime I have company from out of town I bring them here with pride and even a year later they remember what they had to eat and want to order it again! I would recommend anything on the menu as every option I've ever had is superb. There are so many nice, subtle touches to the food, drink, even the service. It truly creates a unique dining experience. The waitstaff is very kind and attentive and the atmosphere is wonderfully inviting. You're never left wondering where the waiter went but they are very careful to give you plenty of time and let you relax. This is a wonderful place for a date, a small group gathering, or simply just when you are hungry for great food! I guarantee you will leave every time feeling satisfied and impressed.
- Pros: everything about Thai Pepper is a pro
- Cons: none
