In Short – Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

My man and I live in Montrose, but we always eat here. They score high on food taste, portions, price, and servings. It is a little bit noisy, but not so bad that we can't talk. I would recommend the call ahead seating, esp on Fri and Sat nights. For food I recommend the Rockhampton Ribeye with grilled shrimp or lobster tail, and the delicious caesar salad. The mixed drinks are all wonderful, too.
- Pros: Food taste, Food portions, Nice waitstaff
- Cons: , Kind of noisy
