great family fun

it is a great place to go and have fun around the bear creek area, its the only one so close to around here. the staff is nice, although young they run the place well. my daughter fell down and hurt her wrist and the DJ was there in seconds to help us off the floor and bring ice, we filled out an incident report and it was not bad. i would gladly go back to this rink with my daughter.
HORRIBLE PLACE, FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE

My family went skating here Sat. night and had our vehicle broken into, along with five other vehicles -- the owner did not even make an announcement, and we did not find out until at least an hour after the break-ins happened. I still had my skates on when "the word got around within the rink about the cars being broken into" and my husband ran out to find our vehicle burglarized and the cops already there -- when I was waiting for my husband to come back in (I stayed inside with my young son) and was trying to ask the owner about what had happened, he was more concerned about fixing the "buzzing door" to let in more customers than he was with what had happened in his parking lot. Very dark, rundown lot, perfect place for thieves -- we should have known better. DO NOT GO HERE.
- Pros: NONE --
- Cons: COMPLETELY AWFUL
Hope you don't have to use the Ladies room

I took my 6 year old daughter to the Bear Creek Skating RInk as a treat. She had gone as a field trip witih her day care and really enjoyed it.
Upon arrival, the teenager behind the glass collecting the fees did not say a word to me, not "hello", not "how many?", not 'that'll be $18', not 'thank you' - all the things I foolishly expect people to say. We went inside and got our skates. They were clean and in good repair. The rink itself is in good shape, no complaints there. We only had slushes from the snack bar, but they were only $1 and tasted fine. The mix and volume of music was fine as well and the kids seemed to enjoy it.
Inevitably we had to use the restroom while there. I was disgusted and appalled by the state of the ladies room. There were 3 stalls. Only 1 of them (the handicap at the end) had a door. The rolls of toilet paper were held to the walls by large, rusty links of metal chain. The stall with the door had no toilet paper though, glad I noticed that before my daughter went in. There was some type of liquid (I assumed urine) all over the floor of the stall with the door. There was toilet paper also all over the ground mixed in with the water. Honestly, I have never been so disgusted by a bathroom in a public place as I was at this skating rink.
As long as you do not have to to go the ladies room, this is a good way to have a few hours of healthy fun on the weekend.
- Pros: skates and rink were in good shape
- Cons: bathrooms
