Katy Door met the contracted deadlines, did a first rate job exactly to my specifications and the cost was extremely reasonable.

While the work was done adequately, I didn't enjoy being told by the owner, Mike Joslin, that I didn't understand the service industry because I was daring to question his $100 an hour labor charge. (I didn't bother to mention that my in-laws run a swimming pool service company with 15 service vans and I know a little about the service industry). The work being done was a new lock and doorknob mechanism in a wrought iron gate. (I wanted a standard round door handle and he put in a straight handled one) The parts were $100 and the labor was $200, non-negotiable. I told him I thought $100 an hour for labor seemed excessive, especially considering the technician was there for one hour and 15 mins, start to finish. He then proceeded to go off on another tangent about how the clock started on my job the minute his techhician left the previous job and if I was so concerned why didn't I get home and monitor the situation. I mentioned that I was at work and I really didn't see what that had to do with anything. Needless to say, I will not use this business again, and unless you enjoy being told what you want and how much you are going to pay, and please don't ask any questions, I wouldn't recommend them.
