best Bakery in Town – I have been buying my cakes here for the past twenty years, and for the money it is the best value in town. Everything is clean and delicious! Thanks ,Le Bon Vivant!
Bakery – We've enjoyed their pastries since we arrived to Houston 15 years ago, when their location was near I-10 and El Yucatan Restaurant. Whether French or not, they have the best pastries in town; we drive to their location from near the Katy Mills Mall. Their service has been great through out the years.
Great Cakes and French Pastries – Everything they have is just great. I always buy birthday cakes for family and friends there, because they are always a hit. Good croissants, chicken and beef empanadas, great assortment of cookies. I love their merengue. They have good coffee and cappuccino. I always give good referrals for their great taste in cakes for special occasions. We just had a large tres leches cake for an office party that was the best I ever had which made the event a success.
I have known the chef for years, it's a family business. He is from Uruguay, lived in Brazil, and Europe, and got established in the US doing what he does best, French and Latin Bakery.
Food good, service BAD – This is the only French Restaurant I know that is owned by a spanish speaking family. The food is good, but the menu is very boring (mostly sandwiches and pastries.) My problem is not with the food, it's with the service. I went in today and was blatantly ignored by the granny that controls the front counter. She looked at me and chose to wait on a spanish speaking customer who had just walked up. I had been waiting in line for a few minutes at that point and was tempted to just turn and leave, but I was hungry and in a hurry. Several people I know have said she charges them different prices on the same item, depending on the mood she is in, and they've stopped going. I will never go again. I gave them a change, and they blew it. Do not go if you are not hispanic. You will be treated like a nuisance.
