I had dinner here Monday w/ a friend. We both have been to most of the steakhouses in Houston & are pretty critical. We were very please w/ the food here.

Jumbo lump crab cake: 5/5 - one of the best

Bone-in ribeye: 4.5/5

Au gratin potatoes: 4/5 - cheese was a little too thick & difficult to cut into, but the dish was very good

Service: 5/5 - very friendly service

Ambience: 3.5/5 - nice courtyard & water feature next to dining area, but interiors feel like grandma's house

Big Valentine Disappointment

Valentine's day was a big disappointment. First, when charging $75 per person, the choices should reflect the price. We had to choose from the list one appetizer per couple, and one dessert per couple. What if you did not like the appetizer selection for your companion, or the dessert you chose was not what your husband or wife liked? You could choose your own salad and entree, but when paying $75 each, one should not have to comprimise on selection for a special evening out. The food was ok, but definately not worth the price. The service was slow, and we had to continue to ask for plates for our couple appetizers, and even the salt and pepper. In short, what could have been an expensive, but worth it Valentine dinner, just made us agree never to do that again.....Just not the same Brenners!!!!

Best Crab Cakes

Great restaurant, if you love crab cakes you must try Brenners. I think the are the best in the world
