New Downtown Location. I live downtown and was incredibly excited about this store (their new Location on Main and Prairie) until I saw their prices. A buffet (which didn't look that great) is $15 per person, a small wrap is $11, they charge $12 for about 8 pieces of bacon, $6 for a carton of eggs, $11 a pound for simple hamburger meat, $16 a pound for a regular (not upgraded) cut of steak, etc. These prices make Whole Foods look like Walmart. I won't return with prices like these- and neither will about 80 percent of new customers. This place is disappointing.

Not so good anymore. Organic foods. I do some of my shopping there.

Buffet is a shadow of what it once was. I no longer partake.

Great idea, strange execution.... The idea of a healthy, community focused market/restaurant is a great idea; I just wish someone would have executed it a little more carefully. The ambiance is very strange (borderline uncomfortable): sparse shelves, random decorating, lack of an organized flow and employee desks scattered across the space.

Aside from the bizarre atmosphere, I went there for lunch today and it was pretty good. The salad bar was fresh and delicious. The hot tea was great... My boyfriend and I even bought some to take home.

THE Best food I've ever eaten in Houston! Best Lunch Spot Secret!. Stopped in Sandy's Market on a whim to buy vitamins. Who knew they have the most extreme lunch buffet i've ever eaten! Huge salad bar with FRESH mint and prepared salads, soups, veggie lasagna, roasted chicken and side items to DIE for! It is a huge grocery store but with dining tables set up all over that are for sale as well. The food is incredible and I believe all you can eat for $9.95. They also have a serious breakfast buffet and the friendliest tea service that comes direct to your table. Unbelievable value and the most unique restaurant/health food store I've ever enjoyed! We plan to order our thanksgiving dinner from Sandy's. They do it ALL. LOVE this place

Great healthy, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere.. I have eaten at Sandy's many times, but not as often as I'd like. It's more then ten miles from my house and go there any time I have other business in the area. Love the vegetarian chili. Outstanding salad bar, and homemade salad dressings. Great teas and coffees, just wish they provided ice. Haven't been there on any bad days, so all I have is praise for the food and waitstaff, who don't hover over you. Most everything is self serve, so I don't see any problems with lazy waiters. Sorry to hear that someone had such a bad experience there that they won't come back. Every business has bad days to deal with and hopefully it's not on someone first visit. The food had always been quality first. They have added and change some things over the years, but it has always been better. Even if you don't care that much for veggies or salads, you should be able to find something that you really enjoy eating there. Soups are to die for, along with the breads and organic butter. There are also great desserts that go wonderfully with the different coffees they offer, and the coffee & tea choices change daily. My favorite coffee is the cream brulee. The Egg Salad, Tuna Salad, Turkey Salad, and sometime salmon salad are all great on the salad bar, plus lots of fresh fruits and cottage cheese. Now I really can't wait to get back there. Oh and the tables and chairs you eat on are also for sale. A chance to try, before you buy, if your looking for furniture.

Fresh inexpensive produce. I LOVE it!!!! GREAT food, great prices and very helpful staff!!!! I am planning on doing all my shopping there! They only leave their produce out for one day. After that, they use it for their buffet. Sandy is great and created this store to create a community feeling centering around food (2 of my favorite things-hahaha :) ) It reminds me of those corner mom/pop stores you see in NYC only bigger. There is a nice big area in the middle which is full of tables for people who are eating brunch. I felt compelled to sign up and write a review after I read the really negative review from someone..... I understand how they feel but I imagine that all businesses have their moments when things don't run smoothly.... I'd hate for anyone to miss out on this gem.... . See it for yourself and decide what you think.

Never Again!!. This used to be my favorite place to dine? until yesterday. My sister and I usually go there for lunch but we recently had the worst experience. Not only were they completely out of food, there were nasty things crawling all around the beverage section. And the staff was not any better. It was obvious that none of them enjoyed being there and don?t even get me started on what they used to wipe the tables with. It was absolutely disgusting! There was no one supervising the food so everything remained empty for a good while. We both walked out of there sick to our stomachs. Needless to say, we will never step foot in there again! It was a huge disappointment.

healthy fresh food. No one beats this dining experience! I am amazed by the freshness of the food; it is prepared from chemical free, perservative free natural foods and the selection is great.

Great Store. We have been shopping at Sandy's for many years. Only problem seems to be that they are increasing their dining capacity at the expense of their produce selections. Otherwise, a wonderful store in all other respects!
