“Just don't drink too much and make sure that you've gotten plenty full on their delightful dishes.”
“We would drive from Hwy 6 and Clay Rd. just to get some great Mexican food.”
“It hasn't changed much in the many years it's been in business, and I guess that's why we are raising our own children on the excellent queso "puff" on the kid's menu that we used to eat!”
“Honestly, this place is extremely affordable as well as friendly.”
“Service is prompt and friendly, prices are reasonable.”
Mediocre Mexican. Service is prompt and friendly, prices are reasonable. However, food is average -- I've had virtually everything on the menu and most of it is 'flat' from a taste perspective. Fajitas are not much more than grilled meat. Beef fajitas are least favorite -- flavorless and tough.
Horrible Service.
My boyfriend and I have been here twice, once with a group, once just the two of us. Our waiter the first time, with the group, was extremely rude and seemed to be in too much of a hurry to wait on us. We didn't see him for long stretches of time, then when he came around to ask if we were okay, he didn't stick around long enough to hear the answer. I liked the green sauce served with the chips, but when I asked what it was he said it was "like guacamole" while practically running away. We all had to ask several people several times to get what we needed.
The second time our waiter was not as rude, but still not interested in waiting on us. We sat there for almost a full ten minutes with empty plates before we could flag him down for our check, and they were not crowded.
That being said, their food is really delicious. Might be the best Mexican I've ever had. Just be prepared for the poor service.
Small but Mighty. In 1975, when my family first moved out to Bear Creek, in West Houston, Los Tios on Kirkwood and Memorial was the only restaurant in the AREA...We would drive from Hwy 6 and Clay Rd. just to get some great Mexican food. Honestly, this place is extremely affordable as well as friendly. It hasn't changed much in the many years it's been in business, and I guess that's why we are raising our own children on the excellent queso "puff" on the kid's menu that we used to eat! They have great combo meals, as well as larger dinner plates. And, to wash down your dinner, make sure that you get one of their margaritas. But, be careful, when I say "cross-eyed" and can hardly walk, I mean it. Just don't drink too much and make sure that you've gotten plenty full on their delightful dishes. Please enjoy!
